Many areas will have a White Christmas this year, but it does not look promising for the greater Fredericksburg area. A "white Christmas" is defined by the National Weather Service as an inch or more of snow on the ground. Parts of western Maryland and the midwest are being blanketed in snow. Virginia is experiencing its' third warmest December since the weather service starting keeping records.
Meteorologist Andy Woodcock says it will likely be a wet Christmas across this region. The evenings will be colder though, dropping into the mid 30s over the weekend, Christmas Eve and Christmas night.
