Authorities say an 18-month-old girl who was abducted from Halifax County has been found safe.

Halifax County Sheriff Fred Clark says Alexis Rose Carwile was found Friday morning at about 6 a.m. in Prince George's County, Md.

The Virginia State Police had issued an Amber Alert late Thursday.

Clark in a press release says that the baby was found safe turned over to social services.

Authorities had been searching for Eric Eugene Black and Jennifer Dawn Carwile.

Thanks to an alert UPS driver who saw the Amber Alert signs on the highway and spotted the car,  Black was stopped while driving alone on Interstate 95 in Prince George County, Va. Information from a family member led authorities to Jennifer Carwile. She was arrested in Maryland.
