Alexandria Men Arrested in Missouri Fraud Scheme

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Three people are in custody in Missouri in connection with a credit card fraud scheme.

A man from Battle Creek, Mich., contacted police in Perryville, Mo., to say his credit card had been used at a Perryville convenience store on Friday. Surveillance video led to suspects at a motel.

Police arrested two people from Alexandria, Va., and one from Cheverly, Md. All three are jailed on $50,000 bond.

The suspects allegedly used stolen personal information to create credit cards and gift cards. Authorities say they found a laptop computer connected to a stripe card reader, along with 135 credit cards and gift cards. They also found more than $1,000 worth of cigarettes, which police say were purchased using the fraudulent cards.
