A 49-year-old Spotsylvania woman is dead after she was struck while riding a bike early Thursday morning on Courthouse Road.
The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office reports that Allison R. Britt was riding in the eastbound lanes about 2:30 a.m. when she was struck by a car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Britt was not wearing any reflective gear, nor did she have any lights on the bike.
She was known to ride late at night.
