BOWLING GREEN, Va. (AP) - A plea hearing has been set for a North Carolina bus dispatcher facing charges stemming from a Virginia crash that killed four passengers.
The Caroline County Circuit Court clerk's office says a plea hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30 in the case of Zhao Jian Chen, of Greensboro, N.C.
That's the day he was set to go on trial for four involuntary manslaughter counts following the May 31, 2011, crash on Interstate 95 north of Richmond.
Chen had pleaded not guilty to those charges in March.
Prosecutor Tony Spencer has said Chen told Sky Express driver Kin Yiu Cheung to continue driving after Cheung said he was too tired to drive.
Cheung's bus swerved off the highway, hit an embankment and overturned. He will face involuntary manslaughter charges in November.
