THEFT: Between July 20 and July 21, during the overnight hours, someone broke into a shed in the area of Ridge Grove Estates in Hughesville and stole tools. A tractor was also damaged. Cpl. R. Heishman is investigating.
THEFT: Between July 20 and July 21, someone stole parts to an air conditioner in the 9800 block of Leighland Court in Waldorf. PFC. D. Warker is investigating.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between July 20 and July 21, unknown suspect(s) broke out several back windows of Wade Elementary School, 2300 Smallwood Drive West and Barnhart Elementary School, 4800 Lancaster Circle, both in Waldorf. Anyone with information is asked to call PFC R. Gass at (301) 932-2222. FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On July 19 at 10:11 p.m., officers responded to the area of Caroline Drive at Cedar Court in La Plata for the report of a stabbing. Investigation showed a male suspect stabbed the victim - a 26-year-old male - during an altercation. The victim was flown to a hospital and treated for an injury that was later determined to be non life threatening. Detectives are pursuing leads. Det. C. Shankster and Det. G. Higgs are investigating.
BURGLARY: On July 19 at 7 a.m., officers responded to the Dorchester Recreation Center at 5005 Dorchester Circle in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed someone broke into a pool house and stole a small amount of cash. Officers are pursuing leads in this case. PFC R.E Gass and Det. J. Morales are investigating.
THEFT: On July 16 between 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole two large children's outdoor party inflatable's which were stored on a trailer in the area of Ann Harbor Drive in Port Tobacco. One inflatable is an obstacle course with a water slide about 70' in length and the other is a playground inflatable about 54' in length. The victim said at least two people would have to carry the items due to their weight. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Myers at (301) 932-2222.
TWO MEN CHARGED WITH POSESSION OF DRUGS AND A WEAPON: On July 17 at 3:43 p.m., Officer C. Shaw initiated a traffic stop in the area of Crain Highway and Sub Station Road in Waldorf after observing the driver of a car operating in an erratic manner. Upon approaching the car, Officer Shaw smelled the odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed a handgun in the car and a large amount of marijuana (bulked and ready for sale). The driver and a passenger were arrested and the car was seized for forfeiture. Thaddeus Cornell Edwards, 19, of Clinton, and Eric Brandon Branch-Simpson, 20, of Clinton, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell drugs and possession of a firearm.

**INCIDENTS**

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 20th at 8:29PM, officers responded to the 15200 block of Wentwood Ln in Woodridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 19 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was standing on the sidewalk in the above area when he was approached by two unknown men. The men assaulted the victim and took his iPhone before fleeing on foot. Minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects. This incident does not appear to be random.
Suspect Descriptions:
Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 6'0", 175lbs with a medium build, black dreadlocks, brown eyes, and multiple tattoos on his arms
Last seen wearing dark colored sweatpants and white t-shirt

Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 5'9", 170lbs with a medium build
Last seen wearing a multi-colored jacket and a dark colored beanie

Commercial Burglary – On July 21st at 3:37PM, officers responded to the Prince William County Landfill located at 14811 Dumfries Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00PM on July 20th and 7:00AM on July 21st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into an office trailer on the property through a window which was broken out. An interior filing cabinet was also found damaged. No property was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On July 22nd at 3:22AM, officers responded to Sally's Beauty Supply located at 8395 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate an alarm activation. Officers arrived at the business and discovered the front glass door was shattered. The business was closed at the time of the incident and no suspect(s) was seen. Entry does not appear to have been made into the business and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect(s).

Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 21st at 11:22PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18600 block of Old Triangle Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she was asleep in her bedroom when she heard the sound of glass breaking and called police. Officers arrived at the home and discovered a broken window to the residence and a separate broken window to a detached garage. No suspect(s) was seen. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect(s).

Felony Animal Cruelty | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 21st at 8:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17700 block of Confederate Ct in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a domestic with weapons. Officers arrived at the home and identified both parties. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted and pushed the victim. At one point, the accused took a phone and threw it against a sliding glass door, causing it to shatter. After the parties had separated, the victim attempted to gather her belongings and leave the home. At that point, the victim stated she witnessed the accused use a kitchen knife to stab her dog. Officers checked the home and located an adult male pit bull deceased with a stab wound to its back. Officers also located two, 2-week old pit bull puppies, one of which was also deceased and the other was critically injured. Both puppies appeared to have sustained blunt force trauma. The injured puppy was immediately taken to an area animal hospital for treatment. Three other puppies and an adult female pit bull were also located in the home and appeared to be unharmed. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The investigation continues into the cause of death for the puppy pending the results of a necropsy. Additional charges against the accused are pending.

Armed Robbery – On July 22nd at 12:03AM, officers responded to the 3300 block of Vineland Pl in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he was delivering a pizza to a residence in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the victim. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, the pizza, and the victim's wallet before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. The K-9 and handler were able to locate a man matching the description provided by the victim in the 3300 block of Canton Ct and identify him as the accused. Upon searching the accused, the victim's wallet was located. The handgun used in the incident was also located and determined to be an airsoft gun. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 22nd at 10:49AM, officers responded to the area of Marblestone Dr and Chapowhite Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a disorderly call. Officers checked the area and were able to locate and identify an individual described in the initial call as the accused. During the encounter, the accused took out a plastic bottle and began swinging it towards the officer, striking him in the face. Officers then attempted to arrest the accused, at which point, she actively resisted. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. During the struggle, one of the officers sustained a minor injury to his leg. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING:
300 block Brock Sq, 7/21 5:25 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person damaged the
front door and door knob in an apparent attempt to gain entry to the home. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
LARCENY:
1700 block Princess Anne St, 7/18 – 7/20 7:00 p.m. A Stafford resident reported that an
unknown person stole his bicycle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Hyperion Café, 301 William St, 7/20 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The owner reported that an unknown
person scratched graffiti into a bathroom mirror. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Bonefish Grill, 1779 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/21 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. An employee reported
that an unknown person smashed a window on her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.

Strong Armed Robbery *ARREST – On July 19th, officers arrested the second suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Colchester Rd and East Longview Dr in Woodbridge on July 7th. The first suspect, identified as a juvenile, was previously arrested on July 16th.
Arrested on July 19th:
Shafi Raaquan GREEN, 19, of the 16900 block of Gentlewood Ln in Dumfries
Charged with robbery

Strong Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On July 7th at 3:45PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Colchester Rd and East Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 13 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when a blue 4-door sedan passed him and then parked. Once parked, three unknown men exited the vehicle and approached the victim. One of the men demanded the victim's cell phone. When the victim refused, the men grabbed the phone from the victim. The men then got back into the vehicle and left. The vehicle was driven by an unknown woman with black hair and blonde highlights. No injuries were reported. The victim was only above to describe one of the suspects. On July 16th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify one of the suspects involved in this robbery. On the afternoon of July 16th, that suspect, identified as a juvenile, was located at the McDonald's on Potomac Mills Cir. When detectives attempted to apprehend him, he fled on foot. After a short foot chase, the juvenile was located and apprehended without further incident. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify a second suspect involved in the same robbery as Shafi GREEN. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against GREEN who remains wanted.


**INCIDENTS**

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On July 14th at 5:36PM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 1600 block of Maryland Ave in Woodbridge (22191) on July 13th. The investigation revealed that the victim's, a 4 year old girl and a 6 year old girl, were both sexually assaulted by a man while they were visiting a residence in the above area. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as the accused who resides in the basement of the home. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused.

Described as a Hispanic male, 5'8", 175lbs with a medium build, clean shaven face, curly black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery and 1 count of object sexual penetration

Residential Burglary – On July 19th at 3:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4700 block of Timber Ridge Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between an unknown time on July 5th and 3:00AM on July 19th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. Two gaming consoles, total value around $650, were reported missing. The homeowner was on vacation at the time of the incident.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On July 19th at 7:40PM, officers responded to a Davita Dialysis located at 1655 Lomond Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. Employees reported to police that sometime between 9:30PM on July 18th and 7:30PM on July 19th, entry was attempted into the business through a side window which was found shattered. No entry was made and no property was reported missing.

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 19th at 10:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1600 block of Hylton Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault which was reported to have occurred on July 18th. The victim, a 43 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim to the ground and then put his hands around her neck. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested.

StalkingDisplaying Garris, Michael.jpg | Residential Burglary – On July 19th at 8:41AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14300 block of North Park Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she woke to find the accused, a known acquaintance, standing in her bedroom. After a brief confrontation, the accused fled the home prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries were reported. The investigation revealed that the accused entered the home through an unsecured door. While officers were at the home, the accused returned. Upon seeing police, the accused fled on foot into a nearby wooded area where he was eventually apprehended without further incident. Officers also learned that the accused was stalking the victim over the past several days at her residence. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

MONDAY, JULY 21, 2014
ASSAULT:
Relax Inn, 1904 Princess Anne St, 7/20 9:30 p.m. A 46-year-old guest reported that a black male
assaulted him with an unknown object after he confronted the male about making advances
toward his girlfriend. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance with a severe
laceration over on eye and other facial injuries. The suspect has not been identified and the
investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY:
Kitchen Works, 2201 Lafayette Blvd, 7/20 4:00 a.m. An off-duty city deputy discovered a
broken side door on the building and contacted city police. When checking the business, it was
found that keys to a company-owned vehicle were missing and the truck belonging to the keys
had been stolen. The neighboring business, I Thee Wed Bridal, had also been burglarized and a
number of tiaras and jewelry sets were taken. Around 6 p.m. on the same day, the stolen truck
was recovered on Farrell Lane where it had been abandoned. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
Fire Station 1, 601 Princess Anne St, 7/17 – 7/18 7:00 a.m. Two employees reported that an
unknown person stole items of value from their vehicles. A suspect was identified through
investigation and he was later located downtown in possession of some of the stolen items.
Joseph Watson, 42, of no fixed address was arrested for felony larceny and misdemeanor
tampering with a vehicle. Watson was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a
$5000 bond.
1200 block Townsend Blvd, 7/18 – 7/19 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
stole the license plates from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
200 block Riverside Manor Blvd, 7/20 2:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
stole her vehicle from the parking area in front of her home. The vehicle was located the next
day when it was returned to the apartment complex with the keys left inside. The investigation is
ongoing.
Teppanyaki Buffet, 2388 Plank Rd, 7/20 3:50 p.m. An employee reported that a group of three
male subjects distracted the servers at the restaurant while a fourth subject, a female, stole purses
and bags from a closet behind the hostess counter. The investigation is ongoing.
McDonalds, 1701 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/19 – 7/20 12:00 a.m. A cab driver reported that an
unknown person stole his digital tablet after he inadvertently left it on a table. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
1800 block Charles St, 7/20 7:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole
a bicycle from the front porch. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Spirits, 816 Caroline St, 7/18 3:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The owner reported that an unknown
person broke the glass from a window and from the back door of the business. A suspect has
been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Sunoco, 201 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 7/18 – 7/19 11:00 a.m. The manager reported that an
unknown person damaged the drainage covers in the parking lot in an apparent attempt to
remove them. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Deanna Josemans, 25, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 2300 block of Plank Road.
Ian Brabant, 31, of King George was arrested for DUID in the 2000 block of Plank Road.
Allen Roach, 21, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 400 block of Princess Anne Street.
ARRESTS:
Brittany Stringer, 20, of Greenville, South Carolina was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Jacob Callahan, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.
Brandon Leake, 30, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.
Edmar Reyes Lopez, 31, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Jason Hite, 38, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Douglas Whitmore, 21, of no fixed address was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Mercer White, 44, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Kurstin Kelly, 18, of Fredericksburg was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Tywand Williams, 27, of Spotsylvania was arrested on warrants from Spotsylvania charging him
with burglary, robbery, conspiracy, and three counts of assault.
Robert Baker, 63, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and possession of
alcohol after being interdicted.
Justin Scroggins, 39, of Manassas was arrested on warrants from Fairfax charging him with
obtaining money by false pretenses.

CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD FOR INFORMATION IN BURGLARY CASES: Charles County Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for several recent burglaries of standalone businesses in the White Plains and La Plata areas. In most cases, the suspect(s) struck overnight and gained entry into the business by breaking in through a rear door or window. It is believed the suspects are targeting businesses that may keep a small amount of cash. The Charles County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who sees activity at a business during the overnight hours, when the business is closed, to contact the CCSO immediately. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in these crimes. Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery *ARREST – On July 18th, officers with the Alexandria City Police Department arrested the second suspect involved in a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge on July 12th. The first suspect, Charles BARNES, was previously apprehended on July 13th.
Arrested on July 18th:

Charged with robbery and malicious wounding

Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On July 12th at 10:58AM, officers responded to the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that on July 11th around 10:00PM, he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind and struck in the head by two unknown men, causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim woke, he was at his residence and discovered his wallet and cell phone were missing. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspects involved in this incident after learning the suspects had followed the victim after leaving a nearby 7-11. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the suspects. One of the men, BARNES, was apprehended on July 13th without further incident. The second suspect, EATON, remains wanted.

The victim, a 24 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim. When the victim attempted to call police, the accused took her phone and threw it. The accused then grabbed the victim and refused to let her go. At one point, the victim attempted to scream for help when the accused covered her mouth. After the encounter, the accused fled the home. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

Residential Burglary – On July 17th at 7:23PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Quail Run Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on July 15th and 2:00PM on July 17th. Entry appeared to have been made into a shed on the property. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the shed. A bicycle, valued around $150, was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 16th at 10:05PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12100 block of Formby St in Bristow (20136) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM on July 14th and 9:00PM on July 15th. Entry appeared to have been made into an attached garage. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the garage. A bicycle, valued around $400, was reported missing.

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 17th at 11:48PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4400 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 27 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, put his hands around her neck. The victim was also stabbed by the accused with a screwdriver. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Abduction | Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 11th at 1:58PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10700 block of Clover St in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault which occurred earlier that morning. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that at around 9:30AM, she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. The accused held the victim against her will until she was eventually able to leave the home and contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused who turned himself into police on July 12th.

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On July 11th, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave in Manassas on April 17th. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused ho was located and arrested following a vehicle stop in Manassas on July 15th.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 18th at 11:28AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 8000 block of Ashland Ave in Manassas (20109) on April 17th around 10:00PM. The victim, an 18 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he made arrangements to meet up with a known acquaintance in the area above to conduct a transaction. Once in the area, the victim got into the backseat of a vehicle occupied by the acquaintance and another unknown man. During the encounter, the acquaintance, seated in the front passenger seat, pulled out a handgun and robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before getting out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot. The other suspect, the driver, is not believed to have been involved in the incident. No injuries were reported. This incident is not random. The investigation continues.



Armed Robbery – On July 15th at 9:45PM, officers responded to the 7-11 located at 5041 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the business and approached the counter. Once at the counter, the man implied he had a handgun and demanded money. The man fled with business with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 20 & 30 years of age, 5'6", 150lbs with a thin build
Last seen wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, tan colored pants, and dark shoes

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – On July 14th at 1:48AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 15200 block of Flintlock Tr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a firearms violation. The resident of the apartment reported to police that they heard gunshots coming from outside and that a bullet had penetrated through a bedroom window. Witnesses reported that a vehicle entered the parking lot of the apartment complex at a high rate of speed. The driver suddenly stopped and opened fire on the apartment building. Following the shooting, the driver fled the area. No injuries were reported. The driver was only described as a black male. Damage from an apparent bullet was also discovered on an exterior wall of the apartment building.

Narcotics Investigation – On July 15th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of prescription pain medications with the execution of a search warrant at the Neurological Center of Northern Virginia located at 2050 Old Bridge Rd, #200 in Woodbridge (22192). During the investigation, detectives learned that the accused, a licensed physician, was writing prescriptions for pain medications without properly performing necessary medical exams. This investigation stemmed from the recent Dragon Slayer Operation which targeted distributers of prescription pain medications and heroin. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On July 14th, members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force located and arrested the third suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries on June 20th. The accused was located at a residence in the 16200 block of Sheffield Dr in Dumfries and was arrested without incident.

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On June 20th at 2:20PM, officers responded to the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he arranged a meeting with an unknown man in a parking lot in the area above. Once there, the victim was robbed at gunpoint but the suspect and another man. The man took property from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. This incident was not random. On June 23rd, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify both men involved in this robbery. The suspects were identified as Terrence HASKINS and Tevon HASKINS. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against both men who were located and arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force in Centreville on June 30th. On July 3rd, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified a third suspect involved in this robbery. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against that suspect, identified as the accused.



**INCIDENTS**

Drowning | Missing Person – On July 15th at 1:33AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4300 block of Spillway Ln Dumfries (22025) to investigate a missing person. The caller reported to police that Scott Sentz left in his vehicle from a family member's home located in the above area around 11:00PM on July 14th. When Mr. Sentz did not return home, his family contacted police. During a search of the area, officers located Mr. Sentz's vehicle in the parking lot of nearby Dolphin Beach Park. A police K-9 and the Fairfax County Police helicopter were used to search for Mr. Sentz who was eventually located unresponsive in Lake Montclair. An autopsy revealed that Mr. Sentz had drowned and that there were no signs of foul play.

The deceased was identified as Scott Carl SENTZ, 45, of Triangle

Commercial Burglary – On July 14th at 2:20PM, officers responded to Fear Cliff located at 14500 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred around 7:30AM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the business. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. Miscellaneous clothing items, total value around $900, were reported missing.

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding – On June 27th at 2:49AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Sedgewick Pl in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 55 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. During the encounter the accused and the victim fell to the ground. At that point, the accused grabbed a glass bowl and struck the victim repeatedly until the bowl shattered. The parties were eventually separated and the victim drove to an area hospital were police were contacted. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant against the accused on July 6th.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 12th at 8:05AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4600 block of Woodway Pl in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a firearms complaint. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet hole was discovered in an interior bathroom of the home. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 10:30PM on July 11th and 7:00AM on July 12th. No injuries or other property damaged were reported.

Residential Burglary – On July 13th at 7:31PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9700 block of Lennice Way in Bristow (20136) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00PM on July 11th and 7:30PM on July 13th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry was made into an attached garage through an open door. Two bicycles, total value around $350, were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On July 13th at 1:00PM, officers responded to Montclair County Club located at 16500 Edgewood Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:01AM and 8:00AM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the pool concession stand. Beverages and a cash register, total value around $570, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 13th at 9:19AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4300 block of Taft Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00AM and 6:00AM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through an open garage door then through an unsecure interior door. A purse, containing miscellaneous property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 12th at 7:51PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Assateague Pl in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on July 3rd and 7:00PM on July 12th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 10th at 1:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3700 block of Detrick Trl in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00PM on July 9th and 7:00AM on July 10th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through an open garage door then through an unsecure interior door. Three purses, containing miscellaneous property were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 11th at 11:47PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15800 block of John Diskin Cir in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 4:00PM on July 10th and 4:00PM on July 11th, entry was attempted into their residence through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Abduction | Felony Animal Cruelty | Brandishing – On July 13th at 11:27AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Cuddy Lp in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 24 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that on July 9th, she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim by striking her in the face. The victim left the residence and returned on July 13th with two friends. When they entered the residence, the accused pulled out a handgun and began assaulting the victim. The accused then began assaulting one of the victim's friends, identified as a 23 year old woman of Manassas. At that point, the third friend, identified as a 30 year old woman of Manassas, pepper sprayed the accused to stop the assault. The three women then ran to a neighbor's residence and contacted police. Officers arrived at the residence and detained the accused without further incident. Minor injuries were reported by the victims. When contact was made with the accused, he was found to have sustained a head injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Officers further learned that the handgun used in the incident was a BB gun. During a search of the apartment, officers located the victim's dog deceased in a bathtub. The victim informed officers that while speaking to the accused over the phone on July 11th, he threatened to kill her dog. Animal Control responded and took custody of the dog to conduct a necropsy to determine cause of death. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Malicious Wounding | Strong Armed Robbery – On July 12th at 10:58AM, officers responded to the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that on July 11th around 10:00PM, he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind and struck in the head by two unknown men, causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim woke, he was at his residence and discovered his wallet and cell phone were missing. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspects involved in this incident after learning the suspects had followed the victim after leaving a nearby 7-11. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the suspects. One of the men, BARNES, was apprehended on July 13th without further incident. The second suspect, EATON, remains wanted.

Malicious Wounding – On July 10th at 9:45AM, officers responded to Accurate Printing located at 2380 Research Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 53 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he another co-worker, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation. The parties eventually separated. A short time after separating, the accused ran towards the victim carrying a large pipe. The accused swung the pipe towards the victim several times, striking the victim in the arm. BMW from a parking space on the street. The vehicle was later recovered in the 1000 block of

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 10th at 11:44AM, officers responded to Potomac Mills Mall located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 28 year old woman of Alexandria, reported to police that she was confronted by an unknown man while inside the mall. The man eventually walked away from the victim but confronted her again in the parking lot. During the encounter, the victim reached for her cell phone to call police. At that point, the man forcibly grabbed the victim's cell phone and fled the area. Officers located a man that matched the description provided by the victim. Following the investigation, the man, identified as the accused, was determined to be the suspect involved in the prior incident and was arrested. During a search, the victim's cell phone was recovered in the suspect's possession.

Felony Child Neglect | Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – On July 10th at 8:40AM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Marsala Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an unattended child. Officers arrived in the area and located a 4 year old girl walking by herself, unsupervised. Officers followed the girl back to an unsecured residence on Marsala Ct. Police checked the home in an attempt to locate a guardian for the child. Inside the home, officers located an infant child in a bedroom and an adult sleeping in a separate bedroom. That adult was identified as a family member of both children. While at the residence, the children's guardians, identified as the accused individuals below, returned home. During the investigation, officers learned that both accused individuals left the children in the residence without notifying the other adult. During that time, the 4 year old girl was able to get out of the residence and walk down the street prompting the call to police. Both children were unharmed. Following the investigation, both individuals were arrested.

Narcotics Investigation – On July 10th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the selling the marijuana and cocaine with the execution of a search warrant at 11005 Tower Pl in Manassas (20109). During the search, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, evidence of distribution, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were seized. The below arrest was also made without incident.

Murder Investigation | Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On July 9th at 11:44PM, officers responded to the 15000 block of Cloverdale Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a stabbing. Officers arrived in the area and located one victim, identified as a 44 year old man of Woodbridge, on the front yard of a residence in the above area. That victim was found to have sustained a stab wound to his chest and was transported to an area hospital where he died. While investigating the incident, a second victim, identified as a 33 year old man of Manassas, walked into an area hospital, also suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. This victim's injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as the accused. The accused was eventually located and detained without further incident at a residence in the 14400 block of Fillarette St. This incident was not random and appears to have stemmed from a gathering at a residence in the above area. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. This is Prince William County's 3rd murder of 2014.

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On July 9th, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 3500 block of Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge (22191) on July 7th. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 10 year old girl, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 9th at 5:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 40 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, retrieved a pair of scissors and attempted to stab the victim. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Armed Robbery – On June 26th at 11:57PM, officers responded to the area of 7500 Clemson Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 42 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was sitting on the sidewalk in the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. When the victim told the suspect he didn't have money on him, the suspect took other property from the victim and fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported. Officers later located a suspicious vehicle occupied by three men in a parking lot off Sudley Rd. While investigating, one of the males, identified as a juvenile, matched the description reported by the victim of the robbery. Officers were able to connect the juvenile to the incident, as well as, one of the other men, identified as the accused. During a search of the vehicle, a handgun and knife were recovered. Following the investigation, both suspects were arrested.

Abduction | Strangulation – On July 9th at 4:03AM, officers responded to the 14600 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30 year old woman of no fixed address, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused choked the victim and prevented her from leaving to get help. The victim took her phone and attempted to contact police, at which point, the accused took the phone and broke it. The accused fled prior to police arriving in the area. Minor injuries were reported.

The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:00PM and 4:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. Two safes, containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On July 8th at 5:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6300 block of Oakland Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face and, at one point, retrieved a large knife. The accused threatened the victim with the knife and swung it in her direction. No contact was made. Officers arrived and detained the accused without further incident. Non-life threatening injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

ASSAULT/CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: On July 8 at 7:10 p.m., a woman was entering a storage unit at the Outback Self Storage lot located at 4615 Crain Highway in White Plains when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male. The man pushed the woman to the ground and attempted to remove her clothes at which time she fought the man off. The suspect may have fled in a green car, possibly with four doors that had Maryland War of 1812 registration plates and a dent on the front bumper. The suspect is a white male in his thirties, 5'8", 200 lbs., with brown bushy hair, a patchy mustache and a nickel-size hole in his earlobe with a black gauge inserted. There have been no similar reports. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. K. Gross at (301) 932-2222. ASSAULT: On July 7 at 10:25 a.m., officers responded to the 8600 block of Gilroy Road in Nanjemoy for the report of an assault. The victim, a salesman, arrived at the location for a scheduled work call when a man emerged from the house and told the victim to leave. The victim explained he was there for a call at which time the subject went back inside, retrieved a shotgun and threatened the victim. The victim left and notified police. Officers found the shotgun and charged Steven Mair, 52, of Nanjemoy, with assault. Cpl. R. Cadrette investigated.
BURGLARY: On July 6 between 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., unknown suspects broke into a house in the 6800 block of Oreana Place in Bryans Road and stole jewelry, cash and clothing. PFC. D.E. Raby is investigating.
BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between July 5 to July 6, someone broke into the Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 15848 Rock Point Road in Newburg and damaged two windows. Cpl. T. Lee is investigating.

– On June 27, 2014, Caroline County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Investigators and Deputies arrested 32 year old Walter
Saunders, Jr. of Ruther Glen on two separate counts of possessing more than five pounds of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Narcotics Investigators
reported receiving information of suspicious activity at an address in the Lake Land'Or sub-division of Caroline County. Investigators conducted surveillance of
the residence which led Investigators to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle reportedly being driven by Saunders. Narcotics Investigators, along with a narcotics
detecting K9 and K9 handler reported conducting a search of the vehicle and recovering approximately 7 pounds of what Investigators believe to be marijuana.
Narcotics Investigators and Deputies then obtained a search warrant for Saunders' residence, also in the Lake Landor sub-division. Investigators reported seizing
approximately 8 additional pounds of what is believed to be marijuana during a search of the home.
Saunders was charged with two counts of possessing more than five pounds of marijuana with the intent to distribute and is currently being held without bond
at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Sheriff Tony Lippa stated "Your Caroline Sheriff's Office is vigilant in the fight against crime. I thank our citizens who continue to provide information and

Armed Robbery – On July 8th at 2:15AM, officers responded to the 7-11 Convenience Store located at 14797 Darbydale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown masked man entered the store and approached the counter. Once at the counter, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes. The man took multiple packs of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Black male, unknown age, 6'0" with a thin build and light complexion
Last seen wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, black athletic shorts, and a black mask

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 7th at 3:45PM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Colchester Rd and East Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 13 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when a blue 4-door sedan passed him and then parked. Once parked, three unknown men exited the vehicle and approached the victim. One of the men demanded the victim's cell phone. When the victim refused, the men grabbed the phone from the victim. The men then got back into the vehicle and left. The vehicle was driven by an unknown woman with black hair and blonde highlights. No injuries were reported. The victim was only above to describe one of the suspects.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 16 & 17 years of age, 5'10", 110lbs with a thin build, dark complexion, and short black hair

Commercial Burglary – On July 7th at 6:10AM, officers responded to the Shell Service Station located at 14523 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00AM on July 6th and 5:50AM on July 7th. The investigation revealed that entry was into the business through window which was broken out. Several cartons of cigarettes, valued around $1,500, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 6th at 3:41PM, officers responded to the 13600 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a disorderly call. A caller reported to police that a woman was in the parking lot of the Potomac Plaza yelling and throwing things at other vehicles. Officers arrived in the area and made contact with the woman, identified as the accused. The accused was asked to leave the property several times by officers but refused. During the encounter, the accused struck one of the officers in the face and was subsequently arrested without further incident. No injuries were reported.

BURGLARY:
1700 block Lafayette Blvd, 7/4 – 7/7 2:10 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
entered her apartment while she was out of town and stole a quantity of cash from a hidden
location. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
300 block Princess Elizabeth St, 7/7 3:00 p.m. A Ruther Glen resident reported that an unknown
person stole her vehicle from a parking spot downtown. The keys were left inside the vehicle, a
maroon Ford Expedition with Virginia license plates. The investigation is ongoing.
Gold's Gym, 2380 Plank Rd, 7/7 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. Four patrons reported that an unknown
person broke into their lockers and stole their belongings, including wallets and credit cards.
Some items belonging to one of the victims were later found stashed in a different locker from
where they had been secured. The investigation is ongoing.

Debbie White, 49, of Beaverdam was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
David Lawson, 22, of Spotsylvania was arrested for trespassing on the riverbank after dark.

Armed Robbery *ADDITIONAL SUSPECT SOUGHT – On July 3rd, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified a third suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries on June 20th. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against that suspect, identified as the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Described as a black male, 6'6", 190lbs with a thin build, black hair, and brown eyes
Wanted for robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On June 20th at 2:20PM, officers responded to the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he arranged a meeting with an unknown man in a parking lot in the area above. Once there, the victim was robbed at gunpoint but the suspect and another man. The man took property from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. This incident was not random. On June 23rd, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify both men involved in this robbery. The suspects were identified as Terrence HASKINS and Tevon HASKINS. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against both men who were located and arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force in Centreville on June 30th.


Burglary while Armed – On July 7th at 12:24AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6000 block of Popes Creek Pl in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that she and two other occupants of the home were tied up after multiple masked suspects entered the residence. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency, various electronics, jewelry, and a handgun from the home before fleeing the area. Other residents returned home and contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. This incident is not random. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding – On July 5th at 12:10PM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the 7900 block of Meadow Ct in Manassas (20109). The victim, a 23 year old man of Manassas, reported to police that he was in the area above when he was approached by three men. During the encounter, the victim was struck in the head with a glass bottle and a lawn ornament. After the altercation, the suspects fled on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and went to an area hospital where police were notified. This incident does not appear to be random.

Malicious Wounding – On July 5th at 7:44PM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the 1200 block of Potomac Vista Ave in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was assaulted by a suspect with a bat while in the area above. The victim sustained minor injuries and went to an area hospital where police were notified. This incident does not appear to be random.

Armed Robbery – On July 6th at 12:06AM, officers responded to the area of Rodes Dr and Seibels Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 50 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was walking in the area above when she encountered two unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men displayed a knife and took the victim's purse. Both men then fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 5th at 7:46AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17800 block of Lyda Ln in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a firearms complaint. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet hole was discovered in an exterior awning of the home. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 1:00PM on July 4th and 6:30AM on July 5th. No injuries or other property damaged were reported.


Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 4th at 1:28AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18700 block of Pier Trail Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a firearms complaint. The homeowner reported to police that a bullet hole was discovered in an interior bathroom of the home. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 4:00PM and 11:20PM. No one was home when the incident occurred and no injuries or other property damaged were reported.

Residential Burglary – On July 7th at 3:51AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8400 block of Impalla Dr in Manassas (20110) to investigate a burglary in progress. The caller reported to police that several individuals were seen forcibly entering a neighboring vacant home in the above area. Officers arrived and discovered a rear door which had been forced opened. Officers checked the home, no suspects were located.

Commercial Burglary – On July 5th at 10:15AM, officers responded to the Public Storage located at 7909 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime around 12:24AM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the office area of the business. There were no signs of forced entry. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and computer modem were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 5th at 12:17AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6900 block of Village Stream Pl in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00PM on July 3rd and 12:17AM on July 5th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On July 3rd at 12:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6700 block of Kimberwick Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00AM on June 19th and 12:30PM on June 30th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Crash – Fatality – On July 6th at 1:41AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Touchstone Cir and Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver, and only occupant, of a 2010 Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Old Bridge Rd when he disregarded the red traffic signal at the intersection above and struck a 1998 Ford Explorer which was making a left turn from Touchstone Cir onto Old Bridge Rd with a green traffic signal. Two children, a 13 year old boy and a 13 year old girl, were unrestrained in the backseat of the Ford Explorer and were both ejected from the vehicle. All occupants of the Ford Explorer, including the driver, 19 year old male passenger, and both children, were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot following the crash. A police K-9 was used to search for the driver who was eventually located a short distance away and identified as the accused. The accused was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision and was arrested. While in custody, it was learned that the accused sustained internal injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The 13 year old girl seated in the backseat of the Ford Explorer died as a result of her injures on July 7th. The other occupants sustained non-life threatening injuries. The investigation continues.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On July 4th at 6:24AM, officers responded to the area of Kingswell Dr and Kimbrough Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The victim, a 22 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was shot by the accused, a known acquaintance, while sitting in a vehicle in the above area. The accused fled the area on foot prompting a search by officers, a police helicopter, and a police K-9. The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accused, identified as a juvenile, was located and arrested by detectives on July 5th without further incident.

Malicious Wounding | Assault by Mob – On July 6th at 7:08PM, officers responded to the Valero Service Station located at 13295 Trowbridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a fight with weapons. The victims, a 28 year old man and a 25 year old man – both of Woodbridge, reported to police that they were pulling into the gas station when another vehicle, occupied by three of the accused individuals below, pulled in front, cutting them off. A verbal altercation ensued between the parties involved. The suspects eventually got back into their vehicle and left. The suspects returned a short time later, with a fourth individual. Another verbal altercation ensued before the suspects left again and then returned with a fifth individual. At that point, a physical altercation ensued between the two victims and the five suspects. During the encounter, the victims were reportedly assaulted by the suspects using blunt objects including a pair of nanchakus, chains, and a glass bottle. The suspects left the area prior to officers arriving on scene. A witness was able to provide officers with a tag number of their vehicle. Officers located the suspects at their residence on Hoffman Dr in Woodbridge where they were detained without further incident. Non-life threatening injuries were reported by the victims. Following the investigation, the accused individuals were arrested.

Malicious Wounding | Resisting Arrest – On July 4th at 11:58PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15600 block of Plain Dealing Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a fight with weapons. The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation ensued between the victim, a 36 year old man of Woodbridge, and the accused, a known acquaintance. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife and cut the victim in the shoulder. Minor injuries were reported. Additional residents of the home detained the accused until police arrived. As officers attempted to arrest the accused, he actively resisted. The accused was eventually detained. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a juvenile, was arrested.

Strangulation | Assault & Battery – On July 4th at 11:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5600 block of Smallwood Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 32 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim. While investigating this incident, officers further learned of a separate incident involving the same two parties which occurred on June 28th. In that incident, the victim and the accused were involved in another physical altercation. During that encounter, the accused choked the victim. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged in both incidents.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 4th at 8:45AM, a Prince William County police officer was in the area of Smoketown Rd and Minnieville Rd in Woodbridge (22192) when the officer observed a driver slumped over the wheel of their vehicle. The officer made contact with the driver, later identified as the accused. At that point, the accused exited the vehicle and began to walk away. Officers determined that the accused was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to detain him. During the encounter, the accused actively resisted and struck one of the officers in the shoulder. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained. Officers determined that the man, later identified as the accused, was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to arrest him. At that point, the accused jumped up and ran into the officer. Narcotics Investigation – On July 3rd, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force concluded a narcotics investigation involving the distribution of cocaine with the execution of a search warrant at 12329 Oakwood Dr in Woodbridge (22192). During the search, prescription medications, suspected cocaine, other drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered. Theft
On 7/4/14, Deputy Davies released Daniel Byram, 26 of Spotsylvania for Shoplifting at CVS Harrison Road.

On 7/1/14, Deputy Warren responded to 4400 Swissvale Dr. for the report of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Katianne Williams, 28 of Woodford was arrested and charged with felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Williams was located after Sr. Deputy N Ridings, (K-9) and Sr. Deputy Noakes were able to track the vehicle using Lo-Jack. Williams was taken into custody and turned over to Deputy Warren.

On 6/30/14, Deputy Setlock released Tiffany Jackson, 27 of Woodstock on a summons for Petit Larceny Shoplifting at Wal-Mart.

MONDAY, JULY 7, 2014
BRANDISHING:
1000 block Washington Ave, 7/6 4:20 p.m. A 50-year-old city resident reported that he became
involved in a verbal altercation with another driver following a near miss accident at the
intersection of Washington Avenue and Amelia Street. While they were exchanging words, the
second driver walked toward the victim and pulled up his shirt to expose a handgun in his
waistband. The suspect left the scene when the victim called 911. The suspect has been
identified and the investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING:
1300 block Cardwell St, 7/2 – 7/3 8:45 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
attempted to enter her home by prying open a ground level window. No suspects or witnesses at
this time.
ASSAULT/HIT AND RUN:
500 block Jefferson Davis Hwy, 7/4 10:10 p.m. A 64-year-old Spotsylvania resident reported
that he was stopped in traffic when he was rear-ended by a blue Honda Civic driven by a
Hispanic male. There was also a female with blond hair in the passenger seat and two other men
in the back seat. When the victim got out of his car and approached the Civic to obtain insurance
information, the driver punched him in the face and the female passenger pulled off his glasses
and threw them in the roadway. The Civic then left the scene headed south on Route 1. The
victim obtained the license plate information for the blue Honda and the vehicle was later found
unoccupied at Wellington Woods Apartments. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
Carlos O'Kelly's, 2306 Plank Rd, 7/3 4:30 p.m. – 5:50 p.m. An employee reported that an
unknown person broke a window on her vehicle and stole her purse from inside the car. No
suspects or witnesses at this time.
ABC Store, 1249 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 7/3 7:15 p.m. An employee reported that a group of four
unknown subjects stole bottles of liquor by concealing them in bags and purses. The
investigation is ongoing.
100 block Huntington Hills Ln, 7/1 – 7/3 7:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
stole an electronic device from his unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 900 block Caroline St, 7/4 – 7/5 8:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole his
bicycle from the rack where it was chained. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Panera Bread, 1760 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/3 – 7/4 1:45 a.m. An employee reported that an
unknown person flattened all four tires on his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time
1000 block Great Oaks Ln, 7/4 – 7/5 1:45 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
broke the rear windshield on his vehicle, apparently with gunfire. The investigation is ongoing.
1400 block Caroline St, 7/4 – 7/5 5:40 p.m. A passerby reported that an unknown person
shattered a front window pane on the house. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Valarie Smith, 47, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 3600 block of Plank Road.
Paul Grimes, 30, of Stafford was arrested for DUI in the 2700 block of Princess Anne Street.

Reginald Anderson, 37, of Ruther Glen was arrested for obtaining money by false pretenses.

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality – On July 2nd at 1:11PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Williamson Blvd and Stonehouse Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1996 Toyota Camry was stopped at a posted stop sign on Stonehouse Dr attempting to make a left onto Williamson Blvd. The driver proceeded into the intersection and subsequently crossed paths with the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe which was traveling westbound on Williamson Blvd. The driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to an area hospital where he died. Two passengers inside the same vehicle were also transported with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe sustained minor injuries. Speed, alcohol, and drug use are not factors in this crash.

The front passenger was identified as a 65 year old woman of Manassas Park

The rear passenger was identified as a 31 year old woman of Manassas Park

Armed Robbery – On July 3rd at 6:23AM, officers responded to the 2600 block of Penbury Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 25 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he encountered an unknown woman. During the encounter, two unknown man emerged from behind a tree and approached the victim. One of the men implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from the victim before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

Armed Robbery – On July 2nd at 10:00PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at Manassas Mall, 8386 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 23 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was standing next to the front doors of the Wal-Mart when she was approached by two unknown men. The men asked the victim for her phone and when she refused, one of the men pulled out a knife. The men took the victim's phone and fled into the mall. No injuries were reported.

Residential Burglary – On July 2nd at 10:00AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 17200 block of Flatstick Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary to a home under construction. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on July 1st and 7:15AM on July 2nd. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. A dishwasher, valued around $1,000, was reported missing.


Residential Burglary – On July 2nd at 9:54AM, officers responded to a residence coated in the 3400 block of Braddock Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30AM and 9:30AM. The investigation revealed that the homeowner returned home to find a rear sliding glass door was shattered. No property was reported missing.

Felony Cruelty and Injury to a Child – On July 2nd, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cir in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 14 year old female juvenile, reported to police that she was assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. During the encounter, the accused used her hands and a belt to strike the victim to her face, hands, back, arms, and legs. The victim sustained significant injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Hit & Run – On June 25th at 1:18AM, officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and River Ridge Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a hit and run. The victims, a 33 year old woman of Dumfries and a 40 year old man of Woodbridge, were driving on Jefferson Davis Hwy when they encountered the accused, a known acquaintance, driving a separate vehicle. The accused reportedly began to follow the victims. Once in the area above, the victims slowed down for a red traffic signal. At that point, the accused rammed the rear of the victim's vehicle. The victims were able to get away and contact police. No injuries were reported. This incident appeared to have stemmed from a previous encounter involving one of the victims and the accused. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the accused who was later arrested on July 1st.

LARCENY:
1100 block Prince Edward St, 7/1 – 7/2 7:45 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
stole a camera and other items of value from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at

Rosner Collision, 2303 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 7/2 3:45 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. The manager reported
that two male subjects stole the catalytic converters from three vehicles parked on the lot. The
investigation is ongoing.
ARRESTS:
Sherri Burchett, 40, of Stafford was arrested on a warrant from Culpeper charging her with
probation violation.
Brian Braxton, 51, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and shoplifting from

THEFT: On July 1 at 8 a.m., a builder reported unknown suspect(s) stole copper piping from a house under construction in the 4900 block of Tournament Court in White Plains. Officer P. DeBoe is investigating.
THEFT FROM VENDING MACHINE: Sometime between June 27 to June 29, an unknown suspect stole coins from a vending machine in the 2300 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. Officers believe the same suspect may be responsible for similar thefts in the area. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.
BURGLARY: Sometime between June 26 to June 29, someone entered an unlocked trailer in the 15100 block of Coats Hardy Place in Waldorf and stole two ATVs, batteries and cables. One of the ATVs is a green Polaris Sportsman and the other ATV is a National. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.
BURGLARIES: On June 27 at 7:51 p.m., officers responded to the 11500 block of Hornbeam Court in Waldorf for the report of a breaking and entering in progress. A neighbor called and said they observed two males trying to break into a house by throwing a rock through the back window. The suspects fled prior to police arrival. Officers canvassed the area and discovered the suspects did make entry into a nearby house where they stole money and electronics. A police K9 officer and his K9 partner responded and canvassed the area but the suspects were gone. PFC D. Warker is investigating.
ARMED ROBBERY: On June 27 at 3:35 a.m., two male suspects entered Checkers fast food at 3002 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf as the business was closing. They displayed guns and demanded money. The employees complied and the suspects fled. Det. Wimberly is investigating.

Attempted Bank Robbery – On July 1st at 3:51PM, officers responded to the BB&T located at 2089 Daniel Stuart Sq in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown woman entered the bank and approached the teller counter. Once at the counter, the woman demanded money. No money was taken and the suspect left the bank. No weapon was seen or implied.

Residential Burglary – On July 1st at 7:58PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16600 block of Flotilla Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 3:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked door. An iPad, jewelry, laptop, and two gaming consoles, total value around $4,700, were reported missing. The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident.

Residential Burglary – On July 1st at 11:00AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18300 block of Candice Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary to a vacant home. The property manager reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00AM on June 29th and 11:00AM on July 1st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear window which was broken out. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On June 30th at 9:50PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Crabtree Falls Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00AM on June 29th and 9:00PM on June 30th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked window. The homeowner's vehicle was reported missing.

Strangulation | Reckless Endangerment – On June 30th, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 14300 block of Bellona Rd in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that on June 29th, the accused was watching his three children when he became upset with one of the children, identified as the victim, a 5 year old girl. During the encounter, the accused picked the victim up by her throat and threw her against the wall. A family member noticed the injuries and reported the incident to Child Protective Services. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2014
BRANDISHING:
Fall Hill Ave/Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/1 9:50 a.m. A 52-year-old Spotsylvania resident and her 21-
year-old son reported that they were stationary at the traffic light on Gordon Shelton Boulevard
and Fall Hill Avenue when the driver of a Kia sitting behind their car in traffic honked his horn
at them. The 21-year-old, who was in the passenger seat of his mother's Jeep, made a hand
gesture toward the Kia in response to the honking. The Kia turned right onto Fall Hill Avenue
behind the victims and as they approached the light at Carl D Silver Parkway, the Kia pulled up
beside the victims on the driver's side of their car. The driver of the Kia then pulled a holstered
handgun out and pointed it at them while threatening the victims verbally. The victims were able
to note the license plate number of the Kia as both vehicles headed into Spotsylvania County,
and the victims called 911. A Spotsylvania deputy located the Kia at the Spotsylvania Crossing
Shopping Center and detained the driver until a city officer arrived on the scene. Kenneth
Chaffin, 77, of Spotsylvania was arrested for brandishing a firearm and he was released by the
magistrate on a $1500 bond. A handgun, as described by the victims, was located in Chaffin's
vehicle and it was secured for evidence.
LARCENY:
1000 block Albert Rennolds Dr, 6/29 – 6/30 11:00 a.m. A visitor reported that an unknown
person stole a quantity of cash from his unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Pitaiyo Workout, 1006 Caroline St, 7/1 1:00 p.m. The owner reported that a female subject stole
an item of clothing from a rack. The owner of the neighboring business, Cose Belle Boutique,
also reported that the same suspect had stolen a dress from her store. The suspect was described
as a white female 40-50 years of age, wearing a matching Army green colored vest and long
shorts and a large brimmed hat. The investigation is ongoing.
VANDALISM:
1631 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/1 7:50 p.m. A property manager reported that an unknown person
broke the front door glass of a vacant store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Matthew Lockard, 45, of Stafford was arrested for DUID and possession of schedule III
narcotics.
ARRESTS:
David Hunter, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing.
Donald Webb, 55, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication, trespassing, and
possession of alcohol on the riverbank.

**INCIDENTS**

Crash – Fatality – On July 1st at 1:58AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Crooked Knoll Way in Manassas (20111) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of 2001 Subaru Impreza RS was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Prince William Pkwy when the vehicle collided head on with a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt which was traveling westbound. The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. The other diver was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. Speed is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Potential drug and alcohol use remains under investigation. The investigation continues.

The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was identified as a 23 year old woman of Alexandria

Residential Burglary – On June 30th at 6:19PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16100 block of Taconic Cir in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:30PM and 4:30PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the front door which was found damaged. No property was reported missing. The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 1st at 5:39AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10100 block of Asheville St in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 10:00PM on June 30th and 5:30AM on July 1st, entry was attempted into the home through a front glass door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On June 30th at 3:02AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2400 block of Kilpatrick Pl in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 26 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, retrieved a large knife. A witness to the incident, a 24 year old man, attempted to intervene and became involved in a physical altercation with the accused. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and separated all parties. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

rummaged through their unlocked vehicles and stole loose change from one of them. No

stole loose change from his unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Quaker Steak, 1300 Central Park Blvd, 6/28 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. A patron reported that an
unknown person dented the driver's side front and rear doors on his vehicle. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
William Schmuhl, 23, of no fixed address was arrested on a warrant from Stafford charging him
with violation of a protective order and on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with failure
to appear in court.
