Caroline County Sheriff's Incident Reports

Caroline County, Virginia – On July 31, 2013,
Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics
Investigators and Patrol Deputies conducted a
surveillance operation which concluded in a search
warrant being executed at a residence in the town
of Bowling Green.
Narcotics Investigators were conducting an
undercover investigation of a residence on Lee
Street in the town of Bowling Green on 7-31-13,
when Investigators reported seeing two adult
males, suspected to be involved in drug activity,
visit the residence with what appeared to be a
young juvenile in their custody. When the two
males left the residence with the young male,
Investigators conducted a traffic stop of their vehicle
and subsequently found a large bag containing
suspected marijuana. A male passenger, 20
year old Anthony Samuels Jr, of Bowling Green
was arrested and charged with child neglect and
possessing marijuana. Samuels was held under
$2,500 secured bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Investigators and deputies then returned to the
residence on Lee Street where a drug related search
warrant was executed. Investigators reported
seizing suspected marijuana with a street value
of approximately $7,000, prescription pills with an
approximate street value of $700, digital weight
scales, boxes of small plastic bags and counterfeit
U.S. currency. Carl Roots, Jr., 25, was arrested and
charged with four counts of distributing more
than ½ ounce of marijuana, possessing marijuana
with the intent to distribute, possessing schedule II
prescription pills with the intent to distribute and
possessing counterfeit currency. Roots was held
under no bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail.
