Change Possible for Virginia Gas Drilling Plan

A controversial plan to search for oil and gas in Virginia's coastal plain could get some help from Stafford Senator Richard Stuart.
He's introduced a measure in Richmond that would only let it move forward if the Department of Environmental Quality develops some regulations. A private company has leased more than 80,000 acres for drilling in Colonial Beach, Caroline and Westmoreland. Many groups and local residents are concerned it could hurt local waterways and water quality.
