BURGLARY: On March 28 at 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the 15000 block of Bassford Road in Waldorf after the homeowners observed a gray or silver colored minivan parked outside their detached garage. One of the occupants, described as a white male with blonde hair, was taking property from the garage and loading it in the vehicle. The suspects fled when they realized the homeowners saw them. A check of the garage revealed numerous tools had been stolen. Pfc. M. Hancock is investigating.
THEFT: On March 27 at 7:45 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the Jared jewelry store in the 3000 block of Waldorf Market Place and asked to see a pair of earrings. When the clerk took the earrings out of the display, the suspect grabbed them and fled from the store. The suspect is described as a black male, mid 20’s, 5’8”, 180 lbs., wearing a black hat, a Lucky Brand jean jacket, blue jeans, and Nike shoes with a neon colored sole. Officer D. Gehrman is investigating.
TEENS CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF THEFT: On March 27, two juvenile males, 17, were charged in connection with multiple thefts from autos in the Norwood and Clarks Run neighborhoods in La Plata. The suspects were charged with ten counts of theft under $1,000; two counts of theft over $1,000; two counts of theft scheme under $1,000; two counts of theft scheme over $1,000, ten counts of burglary, ten counts of rogue and vagabond and one count of identity theft. Most of the stolen property was recovered during the investigation and returned to their owners. PFC K. Syvertsen investigated.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: On March 22 at 8:20 a.m., a CCSO School Resource officer assigned to North Point High School, 2500 Davis Road in Waldorf, received information from a Crime Solvers tip about a student possibly involved in suspicious activity on an athletic field outside of the school. Officers investigated and found the teen in possession of 4 grams of synthetic marijuana, two packs of rolling papers and a stolen credit card. The subject was charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs.
