FATAL CAR CRASH IN BRYANS ROAD, MD:  On July 2 at 6:38 p.m., Sgt. R. Kiesel of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office observed a Volvo that crashed near the area of Indian Head Highway and the Prince George’s County line. Sgt. Kiesel quickly accessed the driver - who was trapped inside the car - and notified emergency medical personnel. The driver, Bria Monyae Warren, 19, of Indian Head, was extricated from the vehicle and flown to a hospital where she died on July 3 as a result of her injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed Warren was traveling south on Indian Head Highway when she lost control of her car and struck a brick “Welcome” sign before her vehicle came to a stop. PFC W. Saunders of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
THEFT FROM AUTO: Between June 30 – July 1, unknown suspects stole the wheels from a Dodge Magnum station wagon parked in the 3000 block of Hollins Lane in Waldorf. PFC M. Wagner is investigating.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: On June 30 between 1:30 a.m. -7 a.m., unknown suspects broke into Lee’s Market, 4310 Hawthorne Road in La Plata and stole cigarettes.
PFC M. Mellott is investigating.
ROBBERY: On June 30 at 10:50 p.m., two male suspects approached a pizza delivery driver in the 6000 block of Sirenia Place in Waldorf. They displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspects fled. Patrol officers and a police K-9 team canvassed the area. Detective J. Austin is investigating.
PATROL OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On June 29 at 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the Mattawoman Beantown park and ride for the report of suspicious subjects looking under vehicles. Officer B. Clark and Officer B. Kunz located three subjects fleeing the parking lot in a Ford Focus and initiated a traffic stop. Upon further investigation with detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, the suspects were linked to the thefts of at least two catalytic converters stolen from cars parked in the lot.  The suspects, Michael Anthony Carpenter, 25, of Welcome; Steven Michael Blumenstein, 24, of Hughesville; and Matthew Blair Webb, 26, of Mechanicsville, were arrested and charged with theft and destruction of property.
