ASSAULT: On July 31 at 3:39 a.m., officers responded to the area of Pinefield Road and  Pinefield Way in Waldorf for a call about disorderly subjects. When officers arrived, they found a man lying face down in the grass. Upon further investigation, the officers learned the man had just been assaulted by two people he knew. One of the suspects hit the victim with a metal bar and the other suspect punched him. Both suspects fled prior to arrival. The victim was transported to the UMD Charles Regional Medical Center and treated for injuries he sustained in the assault. PDC D. Walker is investigating.

BURGLARY REPORTED: On July 30, during the daytime hours, someone broke into a house in the 10700 block of Cheryl Turn in Waldorf and stole TVs, purses, money and a gun. It is not clear how the suspects gained entry. PFC C. Barrowsis investigating.

THEFT OF COPPER: On July 30, during the daytime hours, someone stole used copper and telephone wire from the 4000 block of Doncaster Drive in Indian Head. Cpl. R. Cadrette is investigating.
ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On July 29 at 1:51 a.m., someone tried to break into a building in the 4200 block of Piney Church Road in Waldorf. The suspect(s) was not successful and fled after the alarm sounded. Officer S. Hooper is investigating.
ROBBERY: On July 28 at 8:35 p.m., officers responded to the 10100 block of Bruns Avenue in White Plains for the report of a robbery. The victim stated he was exiting his vehicle when a  male wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jeans and a bandana around his mouth ran up to him pointing a handgun. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and stole the victim’s cash and two cell phones. The suspect and another male fled to a red passenger car which pulled up after the assault. Prior to this event, the victim had just left a bank at Waldorf Market Place where he withdrew money. It’s not clear if the suspects followed him home after leaving the bank. Cpl K.D. Syvertsen is investigating.

                                                                                **INCIDENTS**                   
 
Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 6:13PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11100 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM on July 29th and 6:00PM on July 30th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into a cottage on the property. There were no signs of forced entry into the dwelling. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. A handgun and gaming console, total value around $1,200, were reported missing. The cottage was not occupied at the time of the offense.
 
Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 1:59PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Counselor Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between an unknown time on April 1st and 1:59PM on July 30th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made into the residence through a window. Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 9:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Serendipity Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that someone was attempting to kick open their basement level door. The suspects fled the area prior to officers arriving in the area. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. A caller reported to police that three suspicious men, possibly juveniles, were seen in the area prior to the burglary call. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance were used to search for the suspects who are believed to have run to a nearby vehicle and fled the area.

Black male, between 16 & 18 years of age, 5’10”, 150lbs with a thin build, dark complexion and long black dreadlocks
                Last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans

THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2014
 
LARCENY: 
First Christian Church, 1501 Washington Ave, 7/30 4:00 p.m. A parishioner reported that she 
witnessed an unknown man stealing envelopes containing checks from the mailbox outside the 
church. An officer patrolling on Princess Anne Street later located a man matching the 
description of the suspect and detained him. The suspect led the officer to where he had stashed 
the stolen checks. Deshon Shelton, 27, of no fixed address was arrested for three counts of 
felony larceny and two counts of misdemeanor larceny. Shelton was incarcerated at the 
Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. 
600 block Greenbrier Ct, 7/25 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown 
person stole his television and damaged a second one. Both TVs had been stored in an 
unsecured Uhaul truck in the parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 
VANDALISM: 
900 block Charles St, 7/28 – 7/30 11:00 a.m. The property owner reported that an unknown 
person spray painted graffiti on the rear of the building. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 
1800 block Caroline St, 6/29 – 7/29 5:00 p.m. A property owner reported that an unknown 
person cut the locks securing site. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 
ARRESTS: 
Luis Garcia, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Strong Armed Robbery – On July 28th at 3:04PM, officers responded to the Bank of America located at 4191 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 72 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he just withdrew money from the outside ATM when he was approached by an unknown man. The man ran up to the victim and immediately grabbed his wallet before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
                Suspect Description:
Black male, between 20 & 25 years of age, 6’3”, 180lbs with a medium build, light complexion, a clean shaven face and short hair
Last seen wearing a white short-sleeve shirt and tan pants
 
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 29th at 3:33AM, officers responded to the area of Lawnvale Dr and Sudley Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a firearms violation. The caller reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area above. Officers arrived in the area and located several shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported.
 
Residential Burglary – On July 29th at 6:13PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 19000 block of Bethlehem Church Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM and 5:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made into the residence through an unsecured window. No property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**
 
Rape | Forcible Sodomy – On July 27th at 10:28PM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that the two victims, a 12 year old girl and an 11 year old girl – both of Woodbridge, were both sexually assaulted by three juvenile males. The victims and suspects were known to one another. Following the investigation, the juveniles were identified and charged on July 28th.
                Arrested on July 28th:
                A 17 year old male juvenile and a 16 year old male juvenile – both of Woodbridge
                Charged with rape and forcible sodomy
                Court date: pending | Status: held at the Juvenile Detention Center

                A 17 year old male juvenile of Woodbridge
                Charged with forcible sodomy
                Court date: pending | Status: released to guardian

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 29th at 10:38PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Fox Lair Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic incident. A caller reported to police that a woman was heard screaming from one of the apartments in the above area. Officers arrived and continued to hear screaming. After officers attempted to get someone to answer the door, they forced entry into the residence. Once inside, officers separated and identified the parties involved. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assault the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Malicious Wounding – On July 27th at 11:20AM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 38 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a broken chair leg and struck the victim in the face and arm. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 2014 
 
ROBBERY: 
1100 Townsend Blvd, 7/30 1:45 a.m. The resident of an apartment, a 33-year-old male, reported 
that he answered a knock at his door and someone asking for his roommate by name. When he 
opened the door, three male subjects pushed their way inside and ordered him to the floor at 
gunpoint. They also forced his roommate, a 48-year-old male, out of the bedroom where he had 
been sleeping and then stole a quantity of cash that was inside the apartment. Two additional 
occupants of the apartment, 19-year-old female and a 22-year-old male, also witnessed the 
incident. The offenders were described as black males in their 20s, approximately 6’ and 175 
pounds. One of the offenders had a mustache and was wearing a red baseball cap and a blue or 
black windbreaker. The offenders fled from the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation 
is ongoing. 
BURGLARY: 
Nader’s Grocery, 508 Caroline St, 7/29 3:30 a.m. The owner reported that an unknown person 
broke the glass in the front door, entered the business and stole merchandise. Surveillance video 
showed the suspect as a white male 18-21 years of age, approximately 5’9” and 140 pounds. He 
was wearing a white or light gray hooded sweatshirt with a zipper and dark colored pants. The 
investigation is ongoing. 
VEHICLE TAMPERING: 
Parking Garage, 600 Sophia St, 7/28 5:50 a.m. – 5:50 p.m. A patron reported that an unknown 
person entered her locked vehicle and pulled down the lower dashboard covers inside the car. 
Surveillance video showed a male subject using a tool to gain access to the vehicle. The 
investigation is ongoing. 
LARCENY: 
Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/29 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. A shopper reported that an 
unknown person stole her wallet from her cart inside the store. The victim’s credit cards were 
later used to make purchases at area stores. The investigation is ongoing. 
VANDALISM: 
Boys and Girls Club, 200 Gunnery Rd, 7/25 – 7/29 8:00 a.m. The director reported that an 
unknown person broke out the rear window of the club’s transport bus. No suspects or witnesses 
at this time. 
200 block Morningside Dr, 7/28 – 7/29 9:15 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person 
broke out the driver’s door window on her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 
Funland, 1351 Central Park Blvd, 7/29 12:30 p.m. An employee reported that an unknown 
person broke out a window on his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time. 
La Petite Auberge, 311 William St, 7/27 – 7/28 1:00 p.m. The owner reported that an unknown 
person spray painted graffiti on the transformer box at the rear of the business. No suspects or 
witnesses at this time. 
ARRESTS: 
Laqueta Webb, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from King George charging her 
with assault and battery. 
Ladonna Mason, 40, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from CVS. 
Catherine Burt, 54, of Colonial Beach was arrested for trespassing. 
Deangelo White, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested on warrants from King George charging 
him with possession of a forged bank note and possession of marijuana.
