ATV STOLEN: On July 29 between 1 a.m. – 6 a.m., someone stole a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 400cc camo-colored ATV from the 8700 block of Mitchell Road in La Plata. It appears the suspects drove a pick-up truck onto the property and loaded the ATV in the bed of the vehicle. Pfc J. Walter is investigating.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/CHARLES COUNTY CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: Between July 26 – July 27, unknown suspect(s) spray painted profanity and graphic images with white spray paint on four cars parked on Velvet Ash Court, Sunflower Place, Pine Cone Circle and Lilac Place in Waldorf. Officers canvassed the area and are working to develop leads. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. BURGLARY OF SHED: Between July 22 – July 26, someone broke into a shed in the 2900 block of Eutaw Forest Drive in Waldorf and stole tools and lawn equipment. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. PFC K. Burger is investigating.
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT: On July 26 at 1:50 a.m., unknown suspect(s) fired shots at an unoccupied car parked in front of a house in the 2400 block of Gerard Street in Bryans Road. No one was struck and the rounds shattered the windows of the homeowner's SUV. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Pfc. D. OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR DURING DRUG INVESTIGATION/DRIVER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT: On July 26 at 12:50 a.m., officers were conducting a narcotics investigation in the area of Huntington Woods Drive when they observed two suspicious people in a car. As the officers approached, they identified themselves but the driver of the car stepped on the accelerator and struck an officer prior to fleeing. Officers located the driver, Malcolm Jarell Young, 42, of Waldorf, at his nearby house. He was arrested and charged with assault, reckless driving and failure to obey a lawful order. The officer was treated for his injuries.
