THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Jan. 9 between 7 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole catalytic converters from two Hondas parked at the Mattawoman Park and Ride in the 3200 block of Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf. Officers processed the scene for evidence.  Officer B. Kunz is investigating.
 
BURGLARY: On Jan. 9 between 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 6800 block of Carrico Mill Road in Hughesville and stole a television and a speaker. PFC R. Bagley is investigating.
 
THEFT: Between Jan. 8 – Jan. 9, unknown suspect(s) stole a white box trailer containing tools and other equipment from a construction site in the 2500 block of Archway Lane in Bryans Road. PFC B. Moore is investigating.
 
BURGLARY OF SHED: Between Jan. 8 – Jan. 9, unknown suspects pried open a door to a shed in the 5000 block of Marbury Run Road in Marbury and stole a broken generator and a set of tires. Cpl. J. Timko is investigating.
 
PATROL OFFICERS ARREST BURGLARY SUSPECT: On Jan. 8 at 4 p.m., officers received a call for a burglary in progress in the 7100 block of Bucktown Road in Hughesville. When officers arrived, they found Larry Edward Sams Jr., 41, of Hughesville, inside a building on the property. Sams was in possession of a hacksaw and other tools and was near a pile of copper piping that had just been cut from the building. Insides Sams’ car, officers observed numerous copper pipes and other tools. Sams was arrested and charged with burglary. PFC R. Bagley and Det. J. McKenzie are investigating.
