On July 24 at 1 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole four wheels and rims from a car parked in the 2500 block of Bolinbrook Court in Bryans Road. Officer M. O'Shields is investigating.
OFFICERS RECOVER STOLEN CAR AND LINK CASE TO BURGLARY:
On July 22 at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the 8100 block of Ironsides Road in Nanjemoy for the report of an abandoned vehicle. The caller said someone left a car parked in his driveway and that he did not know the owner. Officers checked the registration and made contact with the owner who said he was out of town on vacation and the car must have been stolen from his house. Officers went to the victim’s nearby house and discovered a burglary had indeed occurred. It appeared the suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by using a garage door opener that was left inside the victim’s car. They took property and loaded it in the victim’s car, then stole the car but left it abandoned several blocks away. The area was canvassed and the scene processed. PFC K. Newman is investigating.
Between July 21-July 23, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the
11800 block of Woodbury Road in Indian Head and stole electronics and other items. The homeowner had been away and when he returned, he noticed the doors to his house were open. There were no signs of forced entry. PFC D. Graham is investigating.
THEFT OF LAWN MOWER:
Between July 19 - July 21, unknown suspects stole a lawn mower from a house in the 8500 block of Spur Court in Waldorf. Investigation showed the suspect(s) cut a hole in the fence surrounding the property to gain access to the equipment. The mower is a green John Deere zero-turn, mini-frame, Z-trak model 717A with a black roll bar. The bag was not attached. PFC B. Moore is investigating.
On July 21 at 9:30 a.m., officers responded to Mall Circle Drive in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. The victims - two 15-year-old males - said they were in the parking lot when they were approached by two male suspects who were in a car. The suspects asked the victims if they wanted to purchase a pair of tennis shoes. When the victims agreed to buy the shoes, the driver got out of the car, reached into his jacket and demanded the victims’ money. Both victims said they did not see a weapon but believe they heard the suspect cock the hammer of a gun. The victims gave the suspects their money and the suspects fled in a white passenger car. On July 21 at 11:36 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Prestancia Place in Waldorf after receiving a call for a suspicious vehicle. Upon approaching the car, officers smelled the strong odor of marijuana. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle at which time officers observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Darius Jamaal Hemby, 21 of Waldorf; Davon'e Antonio Farrar, 18 of Waldorf; and a 15-year-old male from Waldorf were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. PFC R.
