PATROL OFFICERS FIND DRUGS DURING TRAFFIC STOP/DRIVER ARRESTED: On May 1 at 2:18 a.m., officers were working a radar assignment in the 6100 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head when a car sped through going 20 miles over the speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the car, officers detected the odor of marijuana. Sixty individually packaged baggies of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia were recovered. The driver, Philip Maurice Mitchell, 18, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. Officer V. Warker made the arrest.
OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On April 30 at 2:34 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Iowa Road in Brandywine for the report of a theft in progress. A witness called police and stated two males were stealing propane tanks from a neighbor’s yard. The witness confronted the suspects but was chased away after one suspect pulled out a hammer and threatened him. Both suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers canvassed the area and located the two suspects nearby. Robert William Dixon, 47, and Dillon Charles Dixon, 19, both of White Plains, were arrested and charged with theft. Further, officers discovered the suspects damaged a heating oil tank and approximately 80lbs of diesel oil had leaked out. Det. J. McKenzie is investigating.
BURGLARY: Sometime between April 23 and April 24, unknown suspects broke into a shed in the 1000 block of Dorsett Drive in Waldorf and stole tires and rims. PFC. Alvarez is investigating.
