UPDATE ON DOUBLE FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH/ NAMES RELEASED:
On April 7 at about 4:24 a.m., officers responded to the 9100 block of Crain Highway in Bel Alton for the report of a car crash. A preliminary investigation showed the driver of a Hyundai was traveling south in the north bound lanes of Crain Highway when she struck a Dodge Caravan head-on which was heading north. The driver of the Caravan, Tornelle Prentice Williams, 32, of Baltimore, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, Desiree Angel Osvatics, 22, of Cobb Island, was ejected from her car; she was transported to Civista Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. At this point, it is unclear why Osvatics was traveling on the wrong side of the highway. Investigators would like to hear from anyone who may have been on the roadways near La Plata through Bel Alton just prior to the crash to call Cpl. B.
