WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) - Prince William County police have charged two former teachers at a Woodbridge child-care center accused of cruel treatment of toddlers.
Police said Monday that the women who worked at the Minnieland Academy at The Glen were arrested last week. Twenty-four-year-old Kierra Spriggs and 29-year-old Sarah Jordan are charged with two counts each of cruelty or injury to a child and assault and battery. Police say additional charges are pending.
A Virginia Department of Social Services report found the women encouraged toddlers to fight and dunked children afraid of water into wading pools. It also found the women laughed about feeding kids Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
Minnieland has said it fired the women and other staffers who failed to report mistreatment are no longer with the company.
