LARCENY:
100 block Wellington Lakes Dr, 4/28 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm. A visitor reported that prescription
medication and a number of other items of value were stolen from his unsecured vehicle in the
parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
700 block Princess Anne St, 4/28 – 4/29 3:00 am. A resident reported that her purse was stolen
while she was a guest at a party. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Home Depot, 1201 Gateway Blvd, 4/29 3:00 pm. An employee reported that he heard a door
alarm sounding and saw a black male and a black female exiting through the rear doors with
merchandise in their arms. The two subjects threw the items in the back of a black full-size
pickup with New Jersey license plates and fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
1000 block Princess Anne St, 4/28 1:00 am. A Stafford resident reported that her iPhone was
stolen while she was a guest at a party. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Dunning Mills Inn, 2305 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 4/27 – 4/28 5:00 am. A guest reported that his
vehicle was scratched and damaged in the parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Willie Arbogast, 30, of King George was arrested for DUI, refusal to submit to blood or breath
test, possession of schedule II narcotics, and possession of marijuana in the 100 block of Mary
Washington Blvd.
Gerry White, 30, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1900 block of Jefferson Davis
Hwy.
ARRESTS:
Thomas Turnbull, 55, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.
Bertha Eura, 65, of Fredericksburg was arrested on warrants from Spotsylvania charging her
with writing bad checks.
Richard Robinson, 45, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.
Leon Wynn, 51, of Spotsylvania was arrested for posting signs on public property.
Michael Fauntleroy, 44, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and
trespassing.
Dominic Eitt, 31, of King George was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Michael Monter, 44, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Ralph Burgess, 50, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Stafford charging him
with violation of a protective order.
Jason Dunbar, 31, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Bobbi Snellings, 28, of Stafford was arrested for possession of schedule I, II narcotics and
possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thomas Fitzgerald, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of schedule I, II narcotics
and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant from Caroline charging him with
failure to appear in court.
Brittany Flippo, 22, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing.
On April 25, 2012 at approximately 2:15 p.m. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11000 block of New Market Court for a report of a burglary. First Sergeant Carter was the first deputy on scene and met with the homeowner outside of the residence. As he was gathering information they noticed a black male in his early twenties exit the rear of the victim’s residence wearing a red sweatshirt and khaki pants. The victim verified the subject did not belong in the residence. First Sergeant Carter gave commands for the suspect to stop for which he ignored and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was initially lost in a heavily wooded area but deputies were able to quickly contain the area and call for a police canine to assist in locating the suspect. Deputy Truslow of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the search for the suspect. The suspect was later found by Deputy Truslow’s canine partner and ignored multiple commands by Deputy Truslow and others on the scene. The suspect was then apprehended by Deputy Truslow’s canine partner. The suspect was treated for his injuries and charged with breaking and entering. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of coins which were recovered during the incident.
The suspect was identified as Roberto Vincent Toral 23, B/M from Stafford.
CRIME SOLVERS TIP LEADS TO RECOVERY OF WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS: On April 25 at 9:45 a.m., an anonymous Crime Solvers tip was received at Thomas Stone High School, 3785 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf. The tipster said they observed a student in possession of what appeared to be a black handgun. Officers made contact with the suspect and a black “BB” gun was located in his coat pocket. The suspect was also in possession of a box cutter razor knife. The suspect, 17, was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon on school property. He was released to the custody of a parent.
MAN ARRESTED AFTER BREAKING INTO HOUSE: On April 24 at 9:58 a.m., officers responded to the 10400 block of La Plata Road in La Plata for a burglary that just occurred. The victim reported she exited an upstairs bathroom of her home and entered her bedroom where she observed an unknown male standing next to her bed. She screamed and the accused fled the residence. Officers arrived, obtained a description and immediately established a perimeter. A police K-9 team conducted a track and located the suspect on Whales Drive in the nearby Kings Grant neighborhood. The suspect was apprehended without incident. Curtis Wayne Duff Jr., 18, of Waldorf, was charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree burglary and remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with $25,000 bond.
Further investigation revealed the suspect broke into the house and was carrying an empty back pack which he kept hidden underneath his jacket. It is not clear how he gained entry but he fled out of the rear sliding glass door. Anyone with additional information relating to the suspect is asked to call the CCSO at (301) 932-2222. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.
SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On April 25 at 10:03 a.m., officers responded to the area of Woodville Road at Watson Road in Hughesville for the report of a motor vehicle collision. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Honda Element was traveling East on Woodville Road and slowing to make a left turn onto Watson Road when the driver of a Ford Ranger crossed the center lane striking the Honda head on. The Ford deflected off the Honda and left the roadway striking a tree and overturning. Both drivers were flown to Prince George’s Trauma Center where the driver of the Ford - a 49-year-old male - is being treated for life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Honda - a 65-year-old female - is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation, officers located a witness who indicated that just moments before the crash near Watson Road, the driver of the Ford was actually involved in another crash on Woodville Road near Kayak Drive; no one was injured in that crash but the driver fled the scene. Both collisions are being investigated by the Traffic Operations Unit. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
ASSAULT: On April 25 at 12:35 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Lake Drive in Waldorf for the repot of an assault between known parties. Investigation revealed the victim, 27, and suspect were engaged in an argument when the suspect, Gregory Derrell Lea, 42, of Waldorf, punched the victim, kicked her, choked her and then threw a couch on top of her. Afterwards, he fled from the apartment and took the victim’s car. Officers canvassed the area and located Lea at a nearby store. He was arrested and charged with assault and theft. Officer J. Morales made the arrest.
BURGLARY: On April 24 at 11:10 a.m., officers responded to the 15000 block of Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed the victim was away for the evening and unknown suspect(s) broke into the house and stole copper piping from several components inside the residence. Officers processed the scene for evidence. Officer C. Garner is investigating.

VANDALISM:
The Seasons at Celebrate Virginia, 2301 Dogwood Dr, 4/24 7:30 am. A construction foreman reported that several pieces of construction equipment had been left in the field since Friday afternoon and when they returned, found that several windows on 5 different pieces of equipment were broken. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Damion Nelson, 35, of Fredericksburg was arrested in the 2600-block of Princess Anne St.
ARRESTS:
Cody Ellwood, 21, of Stafford was arrested for public intoxication, inhaling a noxious chemical substance and possession of synthetic cannabinoid.
BARRICADE: On April 24 at 6:31 a.m., members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office’s Tactical Response Squad and Warrant/Fugitive Unit and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Joint Task Force responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf to serve arrest warrants on Marco Antoine Williams, 33. Williams was wanted by the ATF for felony possession of a firearm and furtherance of drug trafficking, and by the Maryland State Police for vehicle theft, fleeing police and various traffic offenses. Shortly after officers arrived at the residence, Williams barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom and refused to surrender to or to communicate with police. Ultimately, officers released tear gas and when they opened the bedroom door, they found Williams armed with a knife. An officer deployed his Taser, allowing officers to quickly take Williams into custody. Williams was transported to Civista Medical Center as a precaution but he was not injured. He was later transferred to the Charles County Detention Center, where he was being held pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. The barricade lasted about an hour. ARMED ROBBERY: On April 23 at 8:30 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Plaza Shell located at 3185 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the reported armed robbery. The investigation revealed the suspect entered the business, approached the cashier and demanded money from the register. When the cashier refused, the suspect revealed a handgun in his waistband. The cashier subsequently gave the suspect money and the suspect then demanded the cashier’s car keys. The cashier complied and the suspect fled in the cashier’s vehicle but abandoned it less than a mile from the store. The suspect was described as a white male with green eyes. He was between 40 and 50 years old and was wearing a blue jacket with white stripes on the sleeves. HATE GRAFFITI: On April 21 about 10:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the baseball dugout at the Southern Maryland Christian Academy located at 9805 Faith Baptist Church Road in White Plains for the reported property destruction and offensive graffiti. The suspect(s) spray painted a swastika, KKK, profanity and 4/20, a common reference to marijuana, on the dugout. STABBING: On April 20 at 10:31 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Jaybee Lane in La Plata for the reported stabbing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 39-year-old man, intervened in an argument between Joseph Henry Forbes, 32, of no fixed address and another man. A physical fight between Forbes and the victim ensued, during which Forbes brandished a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso. A witness called 911 and officers arrived and ultimately arrested Forbes. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault and carrying a deadly weapon. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. The victim was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he was treated for his injuries. Det. Y. Austin investigated. FUGITIVE ARRESTED: On April 20 at 9:30 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers assigned to the Judicial Services Section arrested Travis Sinclair Green, 24, of La Plata, who was wanted for violating probation on a first-degree burglary offense and for a home detention parole violation. The officers found Green in the 60 block of Jameson Court in Indian Head and arrested him without incident. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. On April 6, 2012 at approximately 0030 hours, Trooper A. Moore was on routine patrol in the area of southbound 301 at Route 228 when he observed a gold Mazda Protégé with an inoperative rear license plate illumination. Trooper Moore stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Robert Daniel Lindsay, 23 years of Alexandria, Virginia when he smelled an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. Lindsay was arrested and charged with “did wear, carry and knowingly transport a handgun in a vehicle upon the public roads, highways, waterways, airways and parking lots generally used by the public.”
TRAFFIC COLLISION LEADS TO DRUG ARREST: On April 10 at 3:52 a.m., officers responded to the area of Smallwood Drive and Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a man jumping up and down on the hood of his truck. When officers arrived, the man was gone but they found the truck partially in the median with the engine running, gear in drive and loud music playing. Glass, which shattered from the sunroof, was scattered around the area. Officers discovered two viles of suspected PCP and marijuana inside the vehicle as well as a digital scale. The driver, Antoine Joseph Johnson, 30, of Oxon Hill, returned to the truck and was arrested without incident. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of drugs. PFC P. SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: On April 9 between 12 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into Lisa’s Pub in the 4300 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head and stole a small amount of money. The scene was processed and evidence was recovered. PFC VanHorn is investigating.
VEHICLES DAMAGED: Between April 6 – April 7, unknown suspect(s) broke out the windows of several cars in the Lancaster and Hampshire neighborhoods. Nothing was reported stolen. Officers processed the vehicles for evidence. PFC J. Feldman is investigating.
OFFICERS LOCATE SUSPECTS IN ASSAULT AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On April 7 at 3:47 a.m., officers responded to the Waldorf Motel in the 2100 block of Crain Highway for the report of a burglary in progress. The suspects had been involved in an earlier altercation with the room’s occupants who were known to them. The occupants opened the door and a struggle ensued. The suspects fled prior to police arrival but responding officers located them a short distance away. The suspects, Joseph Eugene Penn, 31, of Waldorf, and Billy Frank Stone Jr., 26, of Waldorf, were arrested and charged with burglary and destruction of property. Officer Makle made the arrest.
OFFICERS ARREST THEFT SUSPECT: On April 5, officers responded to a building supply business in the 4300 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a theft. Investigation showed the suspect went to the business on April 3 and picked up over $900 worth of electrical equipment and tools for a company he said he worked for. He provided a purchase order number and received the items; management later learned the man did not work there. Then, on April 5, the man called in another work order worth $100 and said he was picking the tools up for a different company. Management contacted the company and learned the man did not work there. The employees contacted police and when the suspect came to pick up the items, he was identified as the suspect in the earlier theft. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and transported him to the Charles County Detention Center where he provided a false name and social security number. A computer check revealed his true identity: Ricky Dorrell Smith, 40, of White Plains. Smith was charged with two counts of theft, theft scheme, forgery and providing a false name. PFC K. CRIME SOLVERS TIP LEADS TO ARREST OF MAN SELLING DRUGS FROM ICE CREAM TRUCK: On March 30, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit received a tip through Crime Solvers about a man selling drugs from an ice cream truck. The tipster indicated the suspect had just sold packets of marijuana and was believed to still be in possession of drugs. Officers located the truck near Bayswater Court and Sheffield Circle in Waldorf and initiated a traffic stop. A drug detection dog gave a positive alert. Several small baggies of suspected marijuana were recovered from the driver, Alexander Charles Hoskins, 20, of Waldorf. Officers also found a large amount of currency inside the truck which had been kept separate from the currency he made on ice cream sales. Hoskins was charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs.

On April 4, 2012 at approximately 0102 hours, TFC S. Murphy was patrolling northbound on Maryland Route 5, south of Maryland Route 925 when he observed a Silver Dodge Caravan displaying Maryland Dealer Registration. A routine check through MVA/NCIC revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen through the Howard County Police Department on March 30, 2012. TFC Murphy conducted a felony traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Joyetta Yolanda Moore, 47 years, of Washington D.C. Moore was arrested for “did unlawfully, knowingly, and willfully take out of CARMAX Auto Superstore lawful custody, control and use, a motor vehicle to wit: a 2010 Silver Dodge Caravan without consent of said CARMAX in violation of CR 7-105 of the Annotated Code of Maryland” and “did willfully neglect to return a motor vehicle to wit: Silver 2010 Dodge Caravan after leasing/renting said motor vehicle from CARMAX Auto Superstore under an agreement to return said motor vehicle at the end of the leasing/rental period”.
ACCIDENTAL INJURY: On April 1 at 10 a.m., CCSO officers responded to the parking lot of a building in the 5900 block of Radio Station Road in La Plata for the report of an accident involving a fire department training SUV and a Maryland Fire Rescue Institute training instructor. A preliminary investigation showed the driver of the SUV, 22, was practicing maneuvers on a cone course when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the MFRI instructor. The victim, 59, was initially treated on the scene and then flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma where he was admitted with critical injuries. The Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE: On March 29 at 9:45 p.m., officers were conducting an investigation into a report of drug sales in the parking lot of a gas station in the 4200 block of Crain Highway in White Plains. Officers conducted surveillance and observed three males make a transaction. Upon further investigation and the execution of a search warrant, officers found marijuana and other drug-related evidence. Aldante James Jordan, 21, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia; Daniel John Alexander, 26, of Pomfret, was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance; and Michael Edward Messink, 27, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. BURGLARY: Between March 27 – March 29, unknown suspect(s) broke into a carry-out business in the 3300 block of Livingston Road in Indian Head and stole a small amount of cash and several bottles of soda. Officer M. Mellott is investigating.

200 block Hillcrest Dr, 4/1 6:00 pm. A resident reported that she returned home and found an unknown male subject standing in her living room. The man ran past the victim and down the steps, exiting the house through the basement door. It did not appear that anything was stolen from the residence. The only description the victim could provide was that the suspect was a white male in his late 20’s and approximately 6’ tall. The investigation is ongoing.
