BURGLARY: On May 30 at 8:35 a.m., a homeowner reported unknown suspect(s) broke into a shed in the 7900 block of Mason Springs Road in La Plata and stole farm tools. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Officer P. McDonald is investigating.
MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE HEROIN: On May 29 at 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a suspicious subject. Upon arrival, officers observed Eugene Raymond Dahlstedt, 50, of White Plains, throw several packages of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia on the ground. Dahlstedt was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. Officer R. Forbes made the arrest.
TEENS CHARGED WITH FIRING BB GUN AT PEOPLE: On May 29 at 2:58 p.m., officers responded to Hampshire Recreation Center in Waldorf for the report of several teenagers driving through the area firing a BB gun; two people reported being struck. Officers obtained a description of the suspect’s car and located the vehicle on Stanford Place. The suspects, ages 12, 15, 16, and 18, were identified as being involved. The 16-year-old and 18-year-old were arrested and charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault. Charges are pending against the other suspects. Neither victim needed medical treatment. MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT: On May 29 at 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Gallery Place in Waldorf for a trespassing call. When officers arrived, they spoke with neighborhood security officers who were detaining a man who was in possession of a back pack that contained several stolen items including cell phones and GPS units. Officers traced one of the phones back to its owner who indicated his phone had been stolen from his truck on Justice Court earlier in the week. Tramell Vandell Dorsey, 19, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with theft. Officers are in the process of trying to locate the owners of the other recovered items. PFC M. Sokoloff is investigating.
TRAFFIC OPERATIONS UNIT CONDUCTS TWO DUI CHECK POINTS: The CCSO Traffic Operations Unit, along with the Tactical Response Unit, the COPS Unit and Patrol Unit, recently conducted two sobriety check points. The first check point was on May 27 on Indian Head Highway at Downs Drive. During the operation, 924 vehicles passed through the check point. A total of 20 citations, 8 warnings and 1 equipment repair order were issued for various violations.
On May 25, a sobriety check point was conducted near Billingsley Road and Dutton’s Bridge in Bryans Road. During the operation, a total of 339 vehicles passed through the check point. Officers issued 7 traffic citations and arrested Daryl Thomas Smith, 38, of Accokeek, who was driving on a suspended license and had open warrants.

FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 24 at 12:01 a.m., officers responded to the Master Suites Hotel at 2228 Old Washington Road in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old male with gunshot wounds inside one of the rooms. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and admitted with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation shows the shooting is drug-related. Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division are pursuing leads.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/RRE: Between May 23 - May 24, unknown suspect(s) spray painted profanity and a racial slur on the side door of a building in the 200 block of Gentry Court in Bryans Road. THEFT OF DIRT BIKES: Between May 22-May 23, during the overnight hours, unknown suspect(s) stole two dirt bikes from a trailer parked in the driveway of a residence in the 6100 block of Bicknell Road in Indian Head. One of the dirt bikes is a 2006 KTM 250 XC-W racing model and the other is a 2007 KTM 125 SX racing model. Both dirt bikes are orange and had the number 318 on the sides and front. R&R Antiques, 1001 Caroline St, 5/16 – 5/18 2:00 pm. A dealer reported that an antique
figure was stolen from her booth. The figure is described as a kneeling Rastafarian man made of wood, holding a cane and with a pipe in his mouth. The figure is about 2’ tall. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 5/22 9:40 pm – 10:00 pm. A patron reported that her
purse was stolen from her shopping cart. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
WaWa, 2390 Plank Rd, 5/23 5:15 pm. A Woodford resident reported that a quantity of cash
was stolen from him when he laid it on the counter while making a purchase. The suspect has
been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
1400 block Payne St, 5/22 – 5/23 10:40 am. A resident reported that a quantity of loose
change was stolen from the console of her unsecured vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.
ARRESTS:
Rodney Jones, 42, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Virginia Beach charging
him with probation violation.
Mark Tuten, 47, of Fredericksburg was arrested for driving after being declared a habitual
offender.
Bryce Griffith, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication and underage
possession of alcohol.
A Richardsville man is being held in the Culpeper County Jail after resisting arrest for sexual battery charges.
Yesterday afternoon Det. Kiline Madison and Det. Maria Rodriguez visited a residence on Eleys Ford Road in Richardsville to serve two aggravated sexual battery warrants on Patrick S. Reynolds, 50.
The detectives located the suspect traveling in a Dodge Stratus and attempted to stop the vehicle on the 27000 block of Eleys Ford Road. The vehicle continued to travel about half of a mile before stopping at Reynolds’ home on Eleys Ford Road. (Reynolds was a passenger in the vehicle.)
At the house, Reynolds resisted arrest and began a physical altercation with the detectives. Det. Madison subdued Reynolds and took him into custody at the scene. Neither detective was hurt during the altercation. Medics checked Reynolds at the scene; he was released and transported to the Culpeper County Jail.
The original charges on Reynolds for aggravated sexual battery stem from an assault on a juvenile girl in 2009; warrants for those charges were obtained by detectives yesterday. The case is still under active investigation by Det. Rodriguez.
As a result of yesterday’s incident, Reynolds is charged with two felony counts of assault on a police officer, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of resisting arrest.
Reynolds is being held at the Culpeper County Jail on no bond.
THEFT FROM VEHICLES: Between May 20 - May 21, during the overnight hours, unknown suspect(s) stole wheels and rims from a pick-up truck in the 4700 block of Jay Bird Court in Waldorf. In addition, the suspect(s) attempted to steal the wheels and rims from a truck in the 2900 block of Marsh Hawk Drive but fled the area before completing the theft. Cpl. J. Murphy is investigating.
HATE CRIME/ DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Between May 18 - May 21, unknown suspect (s) wrote ethnic slurs on the side of a house under construction in the 5500 block of Fish Hawk Court in Waldorf. The suspect sought for the rape of a juvenile (Press Release) has been arrested. Jonathan Rodriguez Arzuaga turned himself in at Fredericksburg Police headquarters on Saturday, May 19. He was arrested on charges of rape, forcible sodomy, and abduction, and he is incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

On May 13 2012, at approximately 1756 hours, Trooper K. Burroughs was on routine patrol in the area of Route 925 and Holly Lane., when he observed a silver Eclipse cross over the solid white line by half a car width. Trooper Burroughs initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Tony Oshea Hicks, 43 years of Annapolis, MD. A check through MVA revealed that Hicks’ license was suspended for child support non compliance. Hicks’ was arrested, and TFC W. Posey arrived on the scene to assist. Hicks was charged with possession of marijuana, phencyclidine and paraphernalia
BURGLARY: Between May 13 and May 14, a homeowner reported someone broke into his house in the 1200 block of Adams Court in Waldorf and stole cash, clothing, jewelry and electronics. Officer R. Horrocks is investigating.
CAR REPORTED STOLEN: On May 13 between 8 p.m. – 10:50 p.m., a woman reported unknown suspect(s) stole her car –a 2003, black, Cadillac Deville with Maryland tags 6AL1006 - from the 3000 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf. The victim said she may have left her keys in the ignition by mistake. Anyone with information is asked to call the CCSO at (301) 932-2222. PFC L. Sershen is investigating.
THEFT FROM AUTO: Between May 12 – May 13, unknown suspect(s) broke into a car in the 13000 block of Hillmeade Court in Charlotte Hall and stole money which was left in the car overnight. Officers canvassed the area and did not find any others cars broken into. PFC K. Syvertsen is investigating.
BURGLARY: On May 15 at 2:35 a.m., officers responded to the Burchmart at 10195 Berry Road in Waldorf for the report of an alarm. Officers arrived and discovered the rear door open. A search was conducted but no one was found inside. The suspects stole money and fled. Evidence was collected and processed. Officer P. Morgan, III, is investigating.
OFFICER APPREHENDS THEFT SUSPECTS: On May 11 at 2:35 a.m., an off-duty officer observed a suspicious vehicle behind the Goodyear Tire Center in the 2500 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf. He watched two males remove tires from the lot and place them in the back of a trailer which was attached to their truck. The officer initiated a traffic stop and recovered 16 tires. Charges are pending against the two suspects. PFC. W. Saunders is investigating.
MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On May 11 at 12:02 p.m., officers responded to the area of Young Road and Prescott Court in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Dodge van – a 36-year-old woman from Waldorf - lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree. She was flown to a hospital and treated for serious injuries. The Traffic Operations Unit is continuing the investigation.
ATTEMPT ROBBERY: On May 10 at 7:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Kingsway Drive in White Plains for the report of an attempt robbery. The victim, 16, said he was walking home when two masked suspects approached and demanded his tennis shoes. The victim refused and ran home. PFC K. Sylvestre is investigating.

STUDENT CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF BB GUN AND BOX CUTTER ON SCHOOL PROPERTY: On May 9 at 8:08 a.m., officers responded to Mattawoman Middle School at 10145 Berry Road, Waldorf, after a school administrator learned a BB gun, box cutter and a pair of boot spikes were in a student’s book bag and locker. A school resource officer charged the student with possession of weapons on school grounds and released him to the custody of a guardian. PFC DePaulo investigated.
OFFICERS LOCATE THEFT SUSPECTS: On May 8 at 11:40 a.m., officers observed a pick-up truck parked on the shoulder of the roadway near the CSX tracks on Gallant Green Road near Truman Manor Drive in Waldorf. As the officers checked on the vehicle, they observed Robert Franklin Reick, 37, and Toni Lee Adelman, 46, both of Waldorf, walking toward the truck carrying steel spikes and plates they stole from CSX. In addition, officers found the bed of their truck partially filled with other scrap metals that had been stolen. Further, tools, gloves, and lights were also recovered. Both suspects were charged with theft. Cpl. J. Burroughs and Officer M. Armstrong made the arrests.
BURGLARY: On May 6 at 8:54 a.m., officers responded to the 9500 block of Dewberry Drive in Faulkner for the report of a burglary. A preliminary investigation showed unknown suspect(s) broke into a house and stole a jar of coins. Some of the coins were recovered to the rear of the house. Officer K. Syvertsen is investigating.
FRAUD/SCAM: On May 7 at 11:30 a.m., a man called an elderly woman’s house in White Plains and said he was the woman’s grandson. He told her he had been arrested in New York and needed $2200 to get out of jail. The man asked the woman to wire him money and he gave her instructions on where to go and how to wire it. The woman responded to a local grocery store and wired $2300 to the caller. Later that day, the woman called her grandson and learned he was living in Texas and he had never been arrested. PFC. D. E. MAN INVOLVED IN BARRICADE IDENTIFIED: The CCSO has identified the man involved in the barricade on Pleasant View Place as Joseph Kendall Fryer, III, 44, of Newburg. Fryer died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound as officers attempted to serve him an arrest warrant at his residence on May 7. The investigation is on-going.
DETECTIVES ARREST SUSPECTS IN BURGLARY: On May 4, detectives arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary that occurred in March. The suspects - a 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male – broke into a vacant home in the 4800 block of Shugart Valley Place in La Plata and stole copper pipes. They were subsequently identified and charged with second-degree burglary, theft, and destruction of property. Det. D. Savoy investigated.
PATROL OFFICERS ASSIST IN APPREHENSION OF THEFT SUSPECT: On May 6 at 11:27 a.m., officers from the La Plata Town Police Department and the CCSO received a lookout for a vehicle wanted in connection with a theft that occurred at the Safeway on Shining Willow Way in La Plata. Officers observed the suspect’s car on Crain Highway near Willet’s Crossing Road and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect fled on foot and officers pursued but the suspect ran into a wooded area. A perimeter was established and a K-9 team responded. The suspect, Shawn Carnell Stewart, 40, of Hyattsville, was seen emerging from the woods and was subsequently arrested. La Plata Town police charged Stewart with theft.
OFFICERS APPREHEND ROBBERY SUSPECTS: On May 5 at 10:56 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of the movie theater in the 11000 block of Mall Circle Drive in Waldorf for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed the victims – a 21-year-old male and an 18-year-old female - were sitting in their car when the suspects approached, assaulted them, stole the female victim’s purse and fled. Officers obtained a lookout and established a perimeter. Some of the suspects were located at a convenience store and a K-9 team tracked the other suspects to a nearby footpath. In all, eight suspects were apprehended. Julien Antonio Fort, 20, of Waldorf, was charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of assault and was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. The remaining suspects, ages 14-17, were charged as juveniles with two counts of robbery and two counts of assault. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.
PATROL OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On May 5 at 1 p.m., officers responded to the CVS at 6260 Crain Highway in La Plata for the report of a theft that just occurred. A witness said the suspects entered the store and stole numerous items and fled in dark pick-up truck. A description of the truck was broadcast and officers observed the vehicle nearby. Upon approaching the truck, officers observed numerous packages of medicines and razors that had been stolen from the store. Jerome Kelvin Rustin, 47, and Ardie Dorsey, Jr., 47, both of Washington, D.C., were arrested and charged with theft over $1,000. Rustin also had an open warrant in Prince George’s County for theft. The stolen property was recovered and the suspects were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center.
MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On May 4 at 7:06 p.m., officers responded to the area of Poplar Hill Road and Forest View Drive in Waldorf for the repot of a motor vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer, 42, crossed the center line and struck a Honda Accord. The driver of the Blazer was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The five occupants of the Honda – a 54-year-old woman, an 18-year-old female, a 4-year-old male, a 3-year-old male and an 11-month-old child, were transported to various hospitals. The 18-year old passenger was admitted with serious injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation and charges are pending. Officer S. MAN ON ROOF CHARGED WITH FOURTH-DEGREE BURGLARY: On May 2 at 2:12 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 3100 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf after a witness called to report a possible burglary in progress. The witness indicated they were inside the building and heard footsteps on the roof. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, Andrew Warwick, 22, of Pomfret, on the roof of the building. He was smoking a cigarette and talking on a cell phone. Warrick indicated he had just left a nearby bar and decided he would climb up to the roof of a building for fun. Along the climb, Warrick damaged a water drain. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary. PFC S. Cartwright made the arrest.
BURGLARY: Between April 29 – May 2, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 4400 block of Clayton Road in Waldorf. They stole jewelry and copper piping from the basement. Officer R. Walls is investigating.
DETECTIVES ARREST SUSPECT IN FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 1 at 9:33 a.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Gallery Place in Waldorf after a woman called police and reported she had been stabbed by an acquaintance during an argument. Officers located the suspect, Sandra Anthony, 24, of Waldorf, and placed her under arrest. She was charged with first-degree assault. The victim was transported to a hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries. Det. G. Higgs is investigating.

PATROL OFFICERS FIND DRUGS DURING TRAFFIC STOP/DRIVER ARRESTED: On May 1 at 2:18 a.m., officers were working a radar assignment in the 6100 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head when a car sped through going 20 miles over the speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and upon approaching the car, officers detected the odor of marijuana. Sixty individually packaged baggies of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia were recovered. The driver, Philip Maurice Mitchell, 18, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. Officer V. Warker made the arrest. OFFICERS APPREHEND THEFT SUSPECTS: On April 30 at 2:34 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Iowa Road in Brandywine for the report of a theft in progress. A witness called police and stated two males were stealing propane tanks from a neighbor’s yard. The witness confronted the suspects but was chased away after one suspect pulled out a hammer and threatened him. Both suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers canvassed the area and located the two suspects nearby. Robert William Dixon, 47, and Dillon Charles Dixon, 19, both of White Plains, were arrested and charged with theft. Further, officers discovered the suspects damaged a heating oil tank and approximately 80lbs of diesel oil had leaked out. Det. J. McKenzie is investigating. BURGLARY: Sometime between April 23 and April 24, unknown suspects broke into a shed in the 1000 block of Dorsett Drive in Waldorf and stole tires and rims. PFC. Alvarez is investigating.
