Arrests Made September 21-27, 2012
 
Theft
On 09/21/2012 Deputy Moore arrested Rockland Ean Gibson B/M 51 from Spotsylvania for shoplifting at Walmart.
 
On 09/21/2012 First Sgt. Bryner arrested Stephany Michelle Baker, W/M 22 from Unionville for shoplifting at Giant in Harrison Crossing.
 
On 09/21/2012 Sergeant Clark arrested a 16 y/o h/m juvenile of Spotsylvania at Chancellor High School for the robbery of another juvenile student of sixteen dollars.

On 09/24/2012 Deputy Tillman arrested Nathan Elliott, 39, W/M of Spotsylvania for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and an outstanding capias. 
 
On 09/26/2012 Deputy Plunkett Released Lorenzo Calderon 21yo H/F of King George County on a summons for Possession marijuana in the area of Shannon Park Drive.

On 09/21/2012 Senior Deputy Carey arrested Joseph Hargrove, W/M 52 of Spotsylvania, in the area of Harrison Rd. and Kingswood Blvd. for driving intoxicated.

Charles County, Maryland, Sheriff's Office Incident Reports
MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT OF SCRAP METALS: On Sept. 25, officers took a report from the owner of an HVAC company who indicated one of his employees had been stealing metals from jobsites and scrapping it at local metal shops. Officers investigated further and confirmed the thefts. The suspect, John Michael Hemming, 31, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft. Sgt. D. Stahl is investigating.
 
TEEN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS: On Sept. 26 at 9:40 a.m., school administrators at La Plata High School were made aware that a student was possibly in possession of a knife. Upon further investigation, a knife was found in the student’s book bag. The teen was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and released to the custody of his parents. Officer M. Kaylor investigated.
 
U-HAUL TRUCK STOLEN: Between Sept. 24- Sept. 25, unknown suspect(s) stole a U-Haul truck from the parking lot of a business in the 11700 block of Pika Drive in Waldorf. Officer B. Clark is investigating.
 
THEFTS FROM CARS: Between Sept. 23 – Sept. 24, unknown suspect(s) stole  various items including cash, credit cards and a wallet from three unlocked cars in the 11500 block of Magnolia Court and the 14000 block of Ivanhoe Court  in Swann Point.  Officers processed the scenes for evidence. Officer B. Flynn is investigating.
 
BURGLARY REPORTED: On Sept. 24, officers responded to Cypress Place in Indian Head for the report of a burglary. The homeowner reported someone broke into her house and stole her prescription medications. PFC D. Graham is investigating.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2012
ARMED ROBBERY:
2200 block Caroline St, 9/25 11:00 pm. A 26-year-old Stafford resident reported that he had
just gotten a meal from Hardee’s on Princess Anne Street and was parked in a lot on Caroline
Street eating his food when two male subjects approached his vehicle and demanded money.
Both suspects were reportedly armed with handguns and threatened to shoot the victim. The
victim handed a quantity of cash to one suspect through the open driver’s side window of the car
and then both suspects ran from the scene into the nearby wooded area. The suspects were
described as white males wearing black hoodies and they had masks covering most of their faces.
The investigation is ongoing.

Brocks, 503 Sophia St, 9/27 2:40 am. An employee reported that he was outside his vehicle in
the back parking lot when a male subject approached him from behind and assaulted him by
grabbing his head and striking it repeatedly against the side of the car. During the assault, the
suspect yelled at the victim to give up his wallet. The victim fought back, and during the ensuing
struggle he was cut by a knife that the suspect had in his hand. The suspect ended up dropping
the knife and running from the scene without getting any of the victim’s property.
A bloodhound from the Virginia State Police responded to the crime scene and followed a scent
trail that ran from the parking lot to the wooded area adjacent to the river under the railroad
bridge. The suspect was not located. The suspect was described as a white male 35-45 years old
with shoulder length light-colored hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt, and a black
ball cap. The victim was treated at the scene by personnel from the Fredericksburg Rescue
Squad but he denied transport to the hospital for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY:
900 block Marye St, 9/26 6:30 pm. A property manager reported that an unknown person made
entry into a vacant residence and left evidence of brief occupation. Nothing was stolen from the
building. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/26 1:30 pm. A patron reported that her wallet was stolen
from her purse while she was shopping inside the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Goodwill, 2336 Plank Rd, 9/26 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm. A patron reported that her wallet was stolen
from her purse while she was shopping inside the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
Travis Lewis, 44, of Dumfries was arrested for probation violation.
Gary Mansfield, 44, of no fixed address was arrested for probation violation.
George Sansom, 55, of no fixed address was arrested for felony domestic assault and
misdemeanor domestic assault and battery.

Brief Synopsis of the Incident:  Investigation revealed Unit #2 was traveling northbound United States Route 301 south of Faulkner Road in lane #1. Unit #1 was attempting to cross northbound United States Route 301 from the median. Unit #1 entered the travel path of Unit #2. Unit #2 collided with Unit #1. As a result of the collision the pedestrian’s left leg was severed just below the knee. The pedestrian’s body came through the windshield and came to rest in the passenger compartment of Unit #2. Unit #1 was pronounced dead on the scene.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2012
LARCENY:
400 Westwood Office Park, 9/25 8:25 am. A resident reported that he returned to his vehicle and
found a male subject getting out of it. The unknown male immediately left the area in an older
green Ford or Pontiac sedan. The vehicle owner later discovered that his wife’s wallet,
checkbook, and GPS had been stolen. The suspect was described as a black male approximately
50 years of age. The investigation is ongoing.
Best Western, 2205 Plank Rd, 9/26 3:00 am – 4:30 am. An employee of Aggregate Industries in
Greenbelt, Maryland reported that his company-owned truck and attached box trailer were stolen
from the parking lot of the hotel. The truck is a white 2006 Ford F-350 and the trailer is a white
32-foot gooseneck enclosed trailer containing tools. The investigation is ongoing.
VANDALISM:
2200 block Caroline St, 9/24 4:00 pm – 9/25 5:00 pm. A resident reported that her vehicle was
scratched and damaged by a sharp object. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
Judith Jackson, 45, of no fixed address was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Theodore Martin, 61, of Fredericksburg was arrested for drinking in public.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2012
LARCENY:
300 block Prince Edward St, 9/22 – 9/24 10:00 am. A homeless male reported that his tree
climbing equipment was stolen from where he had left it concealed under a tarp. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
1000 block Wright Ct, 9/22 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. A resident reported that a rear window on his
vehicle was broken. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
FRAUD:
100 block Princess Anne St, 9/17 – 9/24 12:00 pm. A resident reported that he responded to an
ad on Craigslist for a car for sale and wired the agreed upon purchase price to the seller. Since
sending the money, the victim has not been able to contact the seller and has not received the
property. The investigation is ongoing.
ARRESTS:
Ryan Butler, 22, of Culpeper was arrested for public intoxication.
George Waples, 24, of Stafford was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession with intent
to distribute schedule I,II narcotics, possession with intent to distribute PCP, and two counts of
possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

DETECTIVES ARREST MAN IN CONNECTION WITH SECOND-DEGREE RAPE AND SEXUAL SOLICITATION: In August of 2012, investigators with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division were contacted about a sexual assault that occurred in Waldorf. Investigation revealed a 14-year-old female had been communicating – through a social networking site - with an individual claiming to be a 17-year-old male. The two agreed to meet. After engaging in sexual activity, the suspect disclosed he was actually 24-years-old. The victim told her parents who then called police. On Sept. 17, detectives went to the victim’s neighborhood after being made aware the suspect was planning to meet with the victim again. As the suspect exited his car, detectives placed him under arrest. Kirk Douglas Yancey, 34, of Capital Heights, was charged with third-degree sex offense and solicitation of a minor. Detectives want to hear from any other minors who have met with Yancey and had sexual contact. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. C. Gass at (301) 609-6522.

 
ROBBERY: On Sept. 24 at 3:06 a.m., officers responded to a convenience store in the 2400 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a robbery that just occurred. Investigation revealed a lone suspect entered the store wearing a dark bandana over most of his face. He approached the clerk, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled. Officer V. Warker is investigating.
 
VANDALISMS: Between Sept. 22- Sept. 23, unknown suspect(s) scratched four vehicles and punctured the tires of five vehicles in the Milstead Court and Bannister Circle area of Waldorf. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. PFC. P. Alvarez is investigating.
 
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES: On Sept. 20 between 7:30 a.m. – 11:35 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole four tires and a spare tire from a custom truck in the 3800 block of Renner Road in Waldorf. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Officer P. Morgan, III is investigating.
 
BURGLARY: On Sept. 19, officers responded to the 8700 block of Lowell Road in Pomfret for the report of a burglary. The victim stated sometime during that day, someone entered her house and stole several pieces of jewelry. Sgt. S. Grove is investigating.

1200 block Sophia St, 9/21 10:45 am – 5:20 pm. A Spotsylvania resident reported that a rear
window on her vehicle was broken and her daughter’s purse was stolen from inside. No suspects
or witnesses at this time.
Aladin’s, 2052 Plank Rd, 9/21 11:15 pm – 9/22 1:40 am. A patron reported that his vehicle was
stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle is a 2007 red Mazda four-door with Virginia license
plates. The investigation is ongoing.
Expo Center, 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, 9/23 3:00 pm. A patron reported that an unknown
person grabbed her purse from under her arm while she was walking through the parking lot.
The victim could not provide any description of a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

Gerald McCloud, 52, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1300 block of Carl D Silver
Parkway.
Edwin Morales, 29, of Alexandria was arrested for DUI in the 2900 block of Plank Road.

On 09/17/12 Deputy Polliard arrested Winerd Prevard, B/M 20 of New Jersey, for unlawfully carrying concealed weapon, possession of firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, altering a firearm serial number and two charges of child neglect also arrested was Julie Vo, W/F 20 of Spotsylvania, for two charges of felony child neglect in reference to a dispute in the 3600 block of Timber Ridge Drive.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2012
ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING:
900 block William St, 9/20 – 9/21 6:30 am. A resident reported that his door and deadbolt were
damaged in an apparent attempt to gain entry to his apartment. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.
LARCENY:
Camden Hills, 136 Wellington Lakes Dr, 9/19 5:30 pm – 9/20 8:00 am. A maintenance
employee reported that an unknown person stole a vacuum pump from the storage shed. No
suspects or witnesses at this time.
Long John Silvers, 1699 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/17 10:00 am – 9/18 10:00 pm. A manager
reported that money was stolen from the cash register. The investigation is ongoing.
ARRESTS:
Amanda Hare, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Stafford charging her with
failure to appear in court.
Nicky Braverman, 29, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging
her with failure to appear in court.

Charles County, Maryland, Sheriff's Office Incident Reports
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: On Sept. 18 between 2:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., unknown suspects broke into a car on Mall Circle Drive in Waldorf and stole several packages that were left inside the vehicle. The suspects then took some of the items that were the packages and returned them to the store where they were purchased. Officers are pursuing leads in this case. Officer K. Makle is investigating.
 
BURGLARY: On Sept. 18 between 7 a.m. – 11 a.m., unknown suspects broke into a house on Marshall Road in Waldorf and stole several guns and several pieces of jewelry. Officers canvassed the area and located witnesses who observed several suspicious males in the area during the time the burglary was committed. Officers are pursuing leads in the case. PFC D. Arends is investigating.
 
SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH:  On Sept. 18 at 6:31 a.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Malcolm Road in Brandywine for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation showed the driver of a Buick passenger car was traveling south on Malcolm Road when the car left the roadway. The driver overcorrected her vehicle and crossed the center lines where she was struck by a Ford pick-up truck which was traveling north. The driver of the Buick - a 39-year-old Brandywine woman - and her 14-year-old daughter (who was in the front passenger seat) were flown to a hospital where the teen was admitted with critical injuries; her mother’s injuries were not life-threatening. The driver of the pick-up, a 24-year-old man from Brandywine, was treated on the scene and released. PFC B. Saunders of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2012
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:
200 Goldenleaf Ct, 9/19 9:40 pm. Police responded to reports of an loud altercation in the
parking lot and found three male subjects, two of whom are brothers, actively fighting. One of
the brothers had been stabbed in the chest and hand with a small knife during the struggle,
however he was checked by EMS personnel and he denied the need for transport to the hospital.
All three subjects were taken into custody without incident. Rakim Pettus, 21, of Fredericksburg
was arrested for felonious assault and disorderly conduct; he was incarcerated at the
Rappahannock Regional under no bond. Brothers Kevin Poole, 23, and Michael Johnson, 25,
both of Spotsylvania, were arrested for misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. Poole and
Johnson were both released on summons.
During the investigation, a female became very disruptive and refused to obey the officers’
commands to cease her shouting and return to her apartment. Sentoria Poole, 21, of
Fredericksburg was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice; she was also
incarcerated under a $1000 bond. The knife and other evidence were collected at the scene.
LARCENY:
Dominion Towing, 1313 Alum Spring Rd, 9/18 6:00 pm – 9/19 11:00 am. An employee
reported that a set of tow dollies was stolen from the property. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.
Wegmans, 2281 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/17 – 9/19 1:20 pm. A loss prevention employee reported
that money was stolen from a cashier by fraud. Two subjects, a male and a female, purchased a
drink using a $100 bill. After engaging in conversation back and forth, the subjects managed to
get both the change back from the purchase and the $100 bill. The suspects then left the area in a
silver passenger car. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI ARRESTS:
Giovanni Hernandez Chavez, 35, of Richmond was arrested for DUI in the 1800 block of
Jefferson Davis Highway.
ARRESTS:
Stephanie Esparza, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Oscar Ventura, 22, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Allen Peterson, 27, of Fredericksburg was arrested for felony domestic assault and violation of a
protective order.
Jennifer Murphy, 27, of Arlington was arrested for drinking in public.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2012
LARCENY:
100 block Princess Anne St, 9/17 5:00 pm – 9/18 3:10 pm. A resident reported that the two
bicycles belonging to her children were stolen. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Central Station, 1917 Princess Anne St, 9/14 10:00 pm. A Woodford resident reported that the
window on his vehicle was broken and his Ipad and Blackberry were stolen from inside the car.
No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Wawa, 2390 Plank Rd, 9/18 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. A Spotsylvania resident reported that his wallet
was stolen while he was pumping gas. The victim’s credit cards were later used to make
purchases at area stores. The investigation is ongoing.
VANDALISM:
Gateway Village Shopping Center, 9/18 9:30 am – 10:30 am. A patron reported that an
unknown person scratched and damaged her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Majid Alhamwy, 55, of Monroe, Connecticut was arrested for DUI in the 900 block of the Blue
Grey Parkway.
ARRESTS:
Gloria Roberts, 61, of no fixed address was arrested on a warrant from Norfolk charging her with
trespassing.
Tiona McClendon, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Prince William
charging her with failure to appear in court.
Tyrone Cauls, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and on
warrants from Fredericksburg and Hanover charging him with failure to appear in court.
Tobias Beard, 29, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Prince William charging him
with failure to appear in court.
Terrell Boynes, 32, of Stafford was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Charles County, Maryland, Sheriff's Office Incident Reports
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/POSSIBLE ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On Sept. 14 at 8:43 p.m., officers responded to the 11500 block of Scotch Hills Place in Waldorf for the report of a breaking and entering in progress. Officers met with the victim who stated she was inside her house when someone tried to kick in the front door; entry was not made. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Officer B. Clark is investigating.  
 
BURGLARY:  Between Aug. 12 – Sept. 12, unknown suspects broke into a house in the 3100 block of Port Tobacco Road in Nanjemoy and stole long guns and other property. The owner of the house had been away during that time period. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Cpl. J. Timko is investigating.
 
OFFICER RECOVERS STOLEN CAR: On Sept. 13 at 10:30 p.m., Officer J. Garner was conducting a parking lot check at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf when he observed an unoccupied suspicious vehicle. A computer check of the registration plates revealed the car had been reported stolen from another county. The car was towed for safekeeping. Pfc. J. Garner investigated.
 
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES: On Sept. 13 between 5:40 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., unknown suspects broke into three cars at the Mattawoman Park and Ride in the 3200 block of Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf. Stereo equipment and other items were stolen. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Officer J. Garner is investigating.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2012
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
Sammy T’s, 801 Caroline St, 9/17 9:30 pm. Two female patrons reported that a male subject
approached them on the sidewalk while they were having dinner and exposed his genitals. One
of the females verbally challenged the suspect and he left the scene; she followed him down
Hanover Street until he ran into an alleyway. Responding officers were unable to locate the
suspect, who was described as a white male in his 30s with long blond hair. He was wearing
jeans, a yellow shirt, tennis shoes, and a baseball cap. The investigation is ongoing.
ASSAULT/HIT AND RUN:
Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline St, 9/16 1:00 pm. A 15-year-old
juvenile reported that a male subject grabbed her buttocks while she was standing outside the
library with her older cousin. The offender then jumped on a scooter and fled onto Caroline
Street, where he crashed his scooter into the side of a Honda Accord that was momentarily
stopped in the roadway. The driver of the Honda was not injured but her car sustained
significant damage to both right-side doors and to the rear tire. The offender got back on his
scooter and sped from the scene going the wrong way down Caroline Street. On Monday, a
witness to the crash contacted a police officer and provided valuable information concerning the
location of the suspect and the wrecked scooter. James Leon Brown, 31, of Fredericksburg was
arrested for hit and run to an occupied vehicle and operating a motorized vehicle after having his
license revoked – DUI related. Brown was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail
under a $2500 secured bond.
The juvenile assault victim later identified Brown as the offender in a photo line-up, and Brown
was additionally charged with misdemeanor sexual battery.
VANDALISM:
1400 block Washington Ave, 9/14 – 9/17 8:30 am. A member of Tree Fredericksburg reported
that one of their plantings had been damaged. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Herlong Architects, 1009 Prince Edward St, 9/14 – 9/15 6:00 am. The owner reported that the
flag holder which was mounted to the front porch was damaged. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.
ARRESTS:
Bryan Trammell, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for violation of the noise ordinance.
Christopher McFadden, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Julian Parker, 25, of Bumpass was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office Incident Reports
On September 14, 2012 at approximately 3:20 p.m. the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4600 block of Clay St for a report of suspicious activity. On arrival of Deputies Tittle, Walsh and Suthard they found an occupied van in the cul-de-sac and another suspect exiting the rear of a residence which had its sliding glass door shattered. 
 
The suspect exiting the residence was identified as Jason Lee Lawhorn, 31 W/M of Orange and he was charged with Breaking and Entering and Possession of Burglarious Tools. The suspect in the van, Billy Lee Cooper, 21 W/M of Orange was waiting on Lawhorn and was charged with Accessory to Breaking and Entering.  Lawhorn was attempting to steal various pieces of electronic equipment from the residence. All items were recovered and returned to the victims.
 
Cooper and Lawhorn were held in jail under no bond.

On September 15, 2012 at approximately 6:40 p.m. Lieutenant Steve Clem of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office was responding to assist another deputy operating his lights and sirens heading Southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy in the area of Massaponax Church Rd.
 
Lieutenant Clem slowed as he approached a motorcycle which appeared to be slowing to pull to the side of the road to allow Lieutenant Clem to pass. The motorcycle then rapidly accelerated away from Lieutenant Clem. Lieutenant Clem estimated the motorcycle to be going well in excess of 100 miles per hour as it continued to pull away from Lieutenant Clem heading Southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy. Shortly past Massaponax High School, Lieutenant Clem observed the motorcycle driver loose control and strike the guardrail. The motorcycle driver was thrown over the guardrail and suffered from multiple broken bones and internal injury. He is currently being treated at Mary Washington Hospital.
 
The driver was identified as Marcos Suniga-Raudales, 25 H/M of Alexandria. Warrants were obtained on him for Felony eluding of a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, no valid operators license, no motorcycle license endorsement, Failure to register a vehicle with the department of motor vehicles, and driving without valid insurance.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2012
DRUG/WEAPON OFFENSES:
1000 block Wicklow Dr, 9/15 9:50 pm. An officer observed a white Infiniti traveling on Fall
Hill Ave and recognized the driver as the suspect in a shooting incident that occurred at the
Grapevine Café on June 9, 2012. The officer followed the vehicle onto Wicklow Drive and took
the driver into custody on the pending warrants. Due to a strong odor of marijuana emanating
from the driver at the time of his arrest, the officer then obtained a warrant to search the vehicle.
The search yielded a number of small bags containing marijuana and a pistol that was hidden
under the hood of the Infiniti. Lance Durante, 23, of Spotsylvania was arrested on the
outstanding warrants charging him with reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm
in a public place; he was additionally charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to
distribute, carrying a concealed weapon, and altering the serial number of a firearm. Durante
was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
BURGLARY:
1700 block Caroline St, 9/14 1:30 pm. The property owner reported that two male subjects
entered his storage building and removed a brass headboard and footboard. A witness
interrupted the two subjects before they could load the headboard into their waiting vehicle, a
green sedan, but the subjects were able to steal the footboard and flee the scene. The suspects
were described as both white males in their 20’s and both were wearing ball caps and blue jeans.
The investigation is ongoing.

1900 block Charles St, 9/15 1:00 pm. A resident reported that her iPhone was stolen while she
attended a meeting. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Hyperion, 301 William St, 9/16 2:30 pm. A visitor reported that her iPhone was stolen while she
was at the café. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
1200 block Seacobeck St, 9/15 10:00 pm. A resident reported that the metal railing was broken
off the top of a brick kneewall on the perimeter of her property. No suspects or witnesses at this
time.
1000 block Dorthea Ct, 9/16 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm. A visitor reported that the rear window of her
vehicle was broken, apparently by a large rock that was later found on the back seat. No
suspects or witnesses at this time.

FRAUD:
Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/11 - 9/12 2:40 pm. An Orange resident reported that he
advertised his ATV for sale on Craigslist and arranged to meet a buyer in the parking lot of
Walmart. The buyer gave the victim a cashier’s check to pay for the ATV, but the check was
later determined to be fake. The investigation is ongoing.

OFFICERS APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECTS: On Sept. 12 at 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of Pep Rally Lane in Waldorf for the report of a burglary in progress at a vacant house. When officers arrived, a male was observed running from the rear of the house. Officers established a perimeter and called in a K-9 team who then searched the house. Three juveniles were found inside and were arrested without incident. The suspects – two 14-year-old males and one 15-year-old male - were charged with burglary and released to their parents. Officer J. Kelly investigated.  
 
BURGLARY: Between Sept. 10 – Sept. 11, unknown suspect(s) broke into a business in the 4400 block of Southern Business Park Drive in Waldorf and stole several pieces of equipment. Officers canvassed the area for possible witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Officer E. Stone is investigating.

from his apartment. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM: On Sept. 10 at 1:40 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke out the front window of the Cobb Island Market in the 17000 block of Cobb Island Road in Cobb Island. Officers responded and it appeared no one gained entry. The area was canvassed for witnesses and the scene was processed for evidence. Cpl. R. Zink is investigating.
 
FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Sept. 10 at 11:57 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Lyon Court in Waldorf for the report of an assault. Investigation showed the victim, 25, was staying the night at a friend’s house when he was confronted by someone at the residence about money he owed them. The victim left the house and was immediately confronted by at least three other males who punched him and stabbed him. The victim sustained several injuries and was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Officer I. Bier is continuing the investigation.
 
VANDALISM/RRE: On Sept. 7 at 8 p.m., officers responded to the area of Sweetman Road and Chicamuxen Road in Marbury for the report of vandalism. Unknown suspect(s) spray painted a racial slur on the bottom of a street sign. Officers canvassed the areas for witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Sgt. J. Hastings is investigating.

Fredericksburg Police Incident Reports
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2012
ASSAULT BY MOB:
900 block Roffman Rd, 9/9 9:45 pm. Police responded to reports of a fight and found a seriously
injured 34-year-old male lying in the back yard of his residence. The victim had been stabbed
multiple times in the back and struck repeatedly with a pool stick. The victim was transported by
ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital and remains in critical condition.
The investigation led to the identification of three assailants who also live in the neighborhood.
The suspects were located at their home on Hickock Circle and taken into custody without
incident. Jose Maldonado, 28, Ismael Maldonado, 36, and Francisco Martinez, 36, were all
arrested and charged with malicious wounding by mob; they were incarcerated at the
Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI/MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH:
1500 block Princess Anne St, 9/9 8:40 pm. Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash
and found a blue Chevrolet van into the wall at 1505 Princess Anne Street and a green Ford
Explorer into the building at 1503 Princess Anne Street. It was determined that the van struck
the Explorer, which was parked on the street, and pushed it into the unoccupied building before
the van came to rest against the wall.
Due to statements first made on the scene, the van was believed to have been driven by Carla
Sue McManious, 47, of Fredericksburg, who was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. A
witness later identified Ms. McManious’ husband Timothy McManious, 45, as the person who
was driving the van when it crashed into the Explorer. Timothy McManious was transported to
Mary Washington Hospital by ambulance with significant injuries. Warrants were obtained for
Timothy McManious charging him with DUI, driving while revoked, and reckless driving. Carla
Sue McManious was arrested for public intoxication and obstruction of justice; she was
incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $1500 bond.
FELONIOUS ASSAULT:
1700 block Lafayette Blvd, 9/8 2:40 am. A 25-year-old Spotsylvania resident reported that she
was assaulted by a male subject while she was in her car. The victim had just returned to her
friend’s apartment complex after running to the store when a male subject approached her
vehicle and offered her money to perform sex acts. The victim refused, and the suspect reached
into the car through the open window and fondled the victim’s buttocks. The victim screamed
and the suspect walked away from her car. The victim ran inside the building and woke up her
boyfriend, who went looking for the suspect and found him sitting inside a green Mitsubishi
Gallant in the parking lot. The boyfriend confronted the suspect and placed his hands on the
window frame of the Mitsubishi as he leaned into the car. The suspect cut the boyfriend’s left
hand with a box cutter and sped out of the parking lot. The suspect was described as a Hispanic
male in his 20’s, approximately 5’5” with a slender build, and dark spikey hair. The
investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
Home Depot, 1201 Gateway Blvd, 9/7 4:20 pm. An employee reported that a male subject stole
two large trash bins and left the scene in a white Chevrolet van. The investigation is ongoing.
1900 block Washington Ave, 9/8 10:30 pm – 9/9 3:45 am. A visitor reported that her laptop
computer was stolen from the residence. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
800 block Caroline St, 9/8 - 9/9 12:00 pm. A citizen reported that a painting that was publicly
displayed on a fence on Caroline Street was stolen. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
7-11, 3333 Fall Hill Ave, 9/7 8:15 pm. An officer patrolling in the area reported that he found
graffiti spray painted on a storage bin. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Dunning Mills Inn, 2305 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 9/9 12:00 am – 1:00 am. A manager reported
that a window in one of the rooms was broken. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Gregory Murphy, 38, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 2900 block of Plank Road.
Denis Villanueva, 20, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI in the 1200 block of Jefferson
Davis Highway.
Tavaris Reynolds, 27, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1000 block of Prince Edward
Street.
Mark Collins, 54, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 1900 block of Jefferson Davis
Highway.
Anne Huss, 23, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 300 block of Jefferson Davis
Highway.

Charles County Incident Reports
DETECTIVES ARREST MAN IN CONNECTION WITH SOLICITATION OF A MINOR: On Sept. 4, officers were notified of a child solicitation case that occurred in Waldorf. Investigation showed a 15-year-old male began receiving text messages in late August from an unknown person claiming to be a female classmate. The person asked the victim to send lewd photos and described sexual acts they wanted to engage in with the victim. In the days that followed, the person sending the texts actually called the victim who immediately recognized the male voice as that of a man who lived nearby. The youth told his parents who then called police. Timothy Doral Hawkins, 41, of Waldorf, was arrested on Sept. 5 and charged with sexual solicitation of a minor. At this point, no other cases have been reported; however, investigators want to hear from anyone who may have been inappropriately contacted by Hawkins. PATROL OFFICERS RECOVER DRUGS AND PARAPHERNALIA DURING TRAFFIC STOP: On Sept. 4 at 7:15 p.m., a patrol officer initiated a traffic stop near Route 228 and Stavors Road in Waldorf after observing a traffic violation. Upon approaching the car, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana. Inside the car, he discovered several baggies of marijuana, a plastic replica of a semi-automatic handgun, drug paraphernalia, fans, humidifiers, dirt, plant food, fertilizer, books and notebooks containing literature on how to grow marijuana, electrical outlets, thermometers, shears, and nine planting pots. The occupants, Jordan Jamaal Jones-Hicks, 19, of Joppa, and Lauren Edwina Kidd, 22, of Waldorf, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. Officer K. Lerch investigated.
 
BURGLARY/ASSAULT: On Sept. 5 at 10:25 a.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Pretancia Place in Waldorf for a burglary. Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had just returned to her apartment when she observed a lone male standing in the foyer; he was armed with a gun. The suspect told the woman to lie on the ground and she complied. Moments later, the suspect fled and the victim called police. She was not injured. The suspect is described as black male, late twenties to early thirties, 6’3” to 6’4”, 230-240 lbs with a stocky build. At the time, he was wearing a baggy long-sleeve white T-shirt, loose blue jeans (cuffed at the bottom) and tan timberland style work boots. There have been no other similar reports. STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On Sept. 4 at 8:30 p.m., the victim was at a bus stop in the area of Oakly Drive and Wakefield Circle in Waldorf when he was approached by several people who assaulted him and stole money from his pants pockets. The suspects fled and the victim called police. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Officer E. Webster is investigating.
 
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sept 1 at 3:33 a.m., officers responded to Miranda Place in Waldorf after a citizen called and reported seeing two white males walking down the street smashing the windows out of cars. Officers arrived and discovered several damaged vehicles. Officer P. DeBoe is investigating.

FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2012
CHILD ABUSE:
100 block Greystone Ct, 8/30 5:40 pm. Police responded to assist the Department of Social
Services with a report of possible child abuse after two children, a four-year-old female and a
two-year-old female, were taken to the hospital with burns to their hands. The older child was
treated for her injuries and released but the younger child required transfer to the VCU Burn
Unit. The investigation revealed that the children were burned with hot water while in the care
of their mother’s boyfriend. Demarco Singleton, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested on two
counts of felony child abuse/neglect and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under
no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
ASSAULT:
7-Eleven, 905 Lafayette Blvd, 9/2 2:25 am. Officers responded to the parking lot for reports of a
disturbance involving two females. The first responding officer found a Nissan Altima and a
Chevrolet Malibu that both appeared to be damaged and she also found personal belongings
strewn from the vehicles onto the ground. With the vehicles were two females who each had
torn clothing and apparent injuries. The two females reported that they had gotten into a fist
fight on Howison Avenue and then had each gotten into their vehicles to leave the area. Before
leaving, the driver of the Nissan side-swiped the Chevrolet and caused damage to both cars. The
Nissan then headed to the 7-11 with the Chevrolet following. When they arrived at the 7-11,
both drivers got out of their cars and began fighting again. The driver of the Chevrolet
reportedly grabbed a vehicle jack and struck the other female in the head with it just before
officers arrived on the scene. Christina Lewis-Graves, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for
malicious wounding and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. Talaya
Turner, 29, of Fredericksburg was arrested for assault and battery and felony hit and run; Turner
was incarcerated under a $1000 bond. Neither female required transport to the hospital for
medical treatment.
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
3200 block Fall Hill Ave, 8/31 5:00 pm. A resident reported that she was fishing in the river
when a male subject walked up to the riverbank near her location, removed his clothes, and
waded into the water. The male stayed in the area a few minutes before putting his clothes back
on and continuing along the hiking trail. The suspect was described as a tall and slender white
male who was bald and carried a small backpack with him. No known suspects at this time.
BURGLARY:
Sonshine Daycare, 2301 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 9/2 – 9/3 3:40 pm. The director reported that she
found the back door pried open and damage done to the door jamb. It did not appear that
anything was stolen from inside the business. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
ABC Store, 1416 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 8/31 4:30 pm. A manager reported that a young white
male stole a bottle of liquor by concealing it down his pants. The investigation is ongoing.
300 block Maple Ct, 8/31 – 9/1 7:00 am. A resident reported that an unknown person shattered
the driver’s side mirror on his vehicle and stole a license plate. A suspect has been identified and
the investigation is ongoing.
100 block Princess Anne St, 9/2 8:15 pm. A Spotsylvania resident reported that his iPad was
stolen while he was giving a ride to some acquaintances. A suspect has been identified and the
investigation is ongoing.
500 block Fauquier St, 9/3 12:00 am – 9:30 am. A resident reported that her bicycle was stolen
from beneath her front porch. An officer later found the bicycle abandoned in the 400 block of
Charles Street and it was returned to its owner. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
AT&T, 1601 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/3 4:25 pm. A manager reported that a male subject stole
two cell phones from the display area. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20’s
with short curly hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black V-neck shirt, khaki pants, and black
shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
