A Richardsville man is being held in the Culpeper County Jail after resisting arrest for sexual battery charges.
Yesterday afternoon Det. Kiline Madison and Det. Maria Rodriguez visited a residence on Eleys Ford Road in Richardsville to serve two aggravated sexual battery warrants on Patrick S. Reynolds, 50.
The detectives located the suspect traveling in a Dodge Stratus and attempted to stop the vehicle on the 27000 block of Eleys Ford Road. The vehicle continued to travel about half of a mile before stopping at Reynolds’ home on Eleys Ford Road. (Reynolds was a passenger in the vehicle.)
At the house, Reynolds resisted arrest and began a physical altercation with the detectives. Det. Madison subdued Reynolds and took him into custody at the scene. Neither detective was hurt during the altercation. Medics checked Reynolds at the scene; he was released and transported to the Culpeper County Jail.
The original charges on Reynolds for aggravated sexual battery stem from an assault on a juvenile girl in 2009; warrants for those charges were obtained by detectives yesterday. The case is still under active investigation by Det. Rodriguez.
As a result of yesterday’s incident, Reynolds is charged with two felony counts of assault on a police officer, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of resisting arrest.
Reynolds is being held at the Culpeper County Jail on no bond.
