A Hanover County woman is charged in the death last month of a Virginia State Trooper that was directing traffic near the State Fair of Virginia, in Hanover County.
Angelica C. Valencia of Doswell is charged with one count of reckless driving in Trooper Andrew D. Fox's death. Valencia was driving the 1992 Jeep Cherokee that struck and killed Fox on October 5th. Troopers and several bystanders ran to the SUV and lifted it off the trooper and two others immediately started first aid and CPR. The 27-year-old trooper was pronounced dead at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
Neither Valencia nor her juvenile passenger was injured in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
