Technology is changing the way you get help at one area hospital.
Patients who visit Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center's ER can now use an electronic check-in process designed to expedite and improve their care.
The process is similar to that used in airports and retail outlets. Patients first scan their driver's license or type in basic identification information at the check-in station in the ER. They are then guided through a series of questions that captures the reason for the visit. It will also retrieve previous hospital info, thus helping the ER staff.
