Humorist Phyllis Diller Dies at 95 in Los Angeles

<VIDEO>      LOS ANGELES (AP) - Phyllis Diller, the housewife turned humorist who aimed some of her sharpest barbs at herself, has died at age 95 in Los Angeles.

Her longtime manager, Milton Suchin, says Diller died Monday morning in her sleep. She had survived a near-fatal heart attack in 1999.

Diller was a staple of nightclubs and television from the 1950s until her retirement in 2002. She was famous for her distinctive laugh and portrayed herself as a bizarre housewife with a husband named "Fang."

She would tell audiences that "I bury a lot of my ironing in the back yard."

Diller was nearly 40 when she began performing, with five children and a successful career as an advertising copywriter. At the time, women were a rarity in the world of stand-up comedy.

George Jones Agrees to One More Tour
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Country music icon George Jones says he's ready for one last go-round on tour before retiring from the road.

Jones says in a statement Tuesday that 2013's The Grand Tour will be his last after more than 50 years on the road. He plans approximately 60 dates and says it's hard to quit doing what he loves, "but the time has come."

At 81, Jones is widely considered the greatest living country singer and his contributions to the genre such as "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "White Lightning" remain standards. He's back on the road this year after postponing or canceling some dates due to an upper respiratory infection that led to a pair of hospital stays.

The news release also says Jones will soon begin working on a new album with Dolly Parton already working on songs to contribute to the project.

No timeline has been set for its release.

Michael Jackson Website Violates Copyrights
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A federal judge has ruled that a website and businessman working with Michael Jackson's mother has violated some of the singer's copyrights and should be blocked from future uses of the works.

U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson sided with the singer's estate in a ruling Friday against Howard Mann and the website www.michaeljacksonsecretvault.com
The estate sued Mann in January 2011, claiming he was violating copyrights and posed unfair competition to Jackson's estate. Pregerson ruled that the website improperly used art from the film "This Is It," a logo featuring Jackson and the song "Destiny," as well as other material.

A phone message for Mann's attorney was not immediately returned Friday. Mann has collaborated with Katherine Jackson, who is a beneficiary of the singer's estate.

The ruling does not address damages.

Russian Premier Makes Remark Directed at Madonna
MOSCOW (AP) - A Russian deputy premier has made a rude statement apparently aimed at Madonna regarding her support for the jailed members of a Russian punk band awaiting a verdict in their trial.

Dmitry Rogozin didn't name Madonna when he tweeted this week that "every former w. wants to give lectures on morality when she grows old. Especially during foreign tours."  By "w." he apparently meant "whore."

Just before Vladimir Putin's returned to the Russian presidency, members of the feminist band danced in Moscow's main cathedral, singing "Virgin Mary, drive Putin away!"

Madonna supported Pussy Riot at Tuesday's concert in Moscow, saying she'd "pray for them." She then turned her bare back, with "Pussy Riot" written on it and donned a ski mask similar to those worn by the band.
