One teenager is dead and a second teenager is seriously injured following a single-vehicle traffic crash in Fauquier County Monday morning.
The accident happened along a stretch of Route 644 at about 7:30 am when a car driven by a 17-year-old boy over corrected, crossed the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Dead is 16-year-old Ian T. Heflin of Catlett. His 14-year-old sister Brianna is at Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries.
The three were on their way to Liberty High School.
All three were wearing seat belts.
Charges are pending.
