A Fredericksburg man gets a pleasant surprise after winning a major Virginia Lottery Prize.
Wesley Thompson says it was a lazy Sunday morning when he stopped at the Sunoco at 2300 Jeff Davis Highway to buy some lottery scratch off tickets. He scratched the $150,000 Players Club ticket after he got home and couldn't believe what he saw: he had won the $150,000 top prize. Thompson says he carried the ticket around all day. He plans to use his winnings to pay bills.
The $5 ticket has two top prizes remaining.
