THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2013
600 block Sophia St, 5/14 11:00 p.m. A female employee of a downtown business reported that
she was walking to her vehicle when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed
her shoulder bag and ran toward the City Dock. Officers responded to the scene and obtained a
description of the suspect from the uninjured victim; a K-9 team from Spotsylvania Sheriff’s
office also arrived to conduct a track.
The K-9 followed a track to the 300 block of Princess Anne Street. Nearby, officers encountered
a subject matching the suspect description, and they chased him on foot until he was taken into
custody near the intersection of Dixon and Princess Anne Streets. The victim positively
identified the subject as the man who had stolen her bag.
The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old Fredericksburg resident. He was placed in the
Juvenile Detention Center under a previously issued detention order and also under the
additional charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline St, 5/13 5:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. A patron
reported that his iPad was stolen while he was at the library. No suspects or witnesses at this
Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital, 2301 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 5/10 – 5/13 5:00 p.m. The
office manager reported that an unknown person stole a quantity of landscape blocks from the
outside of the building. The investigation is ongoing.
Joshua Smith, 21, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 2300 block of Plank Road.
Clayton Page, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Stafford charging him with
Austin Hull, 18, of Spotsylvania was arrested for embezzlement.
Adam Henry, 24, of Beaverdam was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with
failure to appear in court for possession of a controlled substance.
Michael Talley, 55, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing
