Fredericksburg Police Department Incident Reports

MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2013
BRANDISHING:
Colonial Tavern, 406 Lafayette Blvd, 10/18 10:00 a.m. An employee reported that he was riding
his moped to work when a silver truck passed him at a high rate of speed in the 900 block of
Lafayette Boulevard. As he arrived at his workplace, the moped driver saw the truck stopped at
the traffic light and he exchanged angry words with its driver through the open passenger side
window. The truck’s driver then pulled into the parking lot of Colonial Tavern, got out of the
vehicle with a gun in his hand, and threatened to shoot the victim. The offender got back into his
truck and left the scene as the victim called 911.
Another man witnessed the altercation and followed the truck as far as Hanover Street before
returning to the scene and providing his information to police. Officers checked the area for the
silver truck but were unable to locate it or the driver.
While officers were searching for the truck, the offender arrived at Police Headquarters to speak
to an officer about the incident. Ivan Lee Samuels, 66, of Spotsylvania was arrested for
brandishing a firearm and released by the magistrate on a $2500 bond. The firearm, which was
found inside Samuels’ truck, was seized for evidence.
BURGLARY:
100 block Hickock Cir, 10/18 – 10/19 9:45 a.m. A property manager reported that an unknown
person broke a window to gain entry to the vacant residence and stole some items of value from
inside. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY:
1200 block Sunken Rd, 10/20 3:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person gained
entry to his apartment through a ground floor window and threw items from the refrigerator
around the premises. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
200 block Caroline St, 6/30 – 10/14 7:00 p.m. A resident reported that a sum of cash was stolen
from his home office. The investigation is ongoing.
600 block Fauquier St, 10/18 – 10/19 12:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
broke a window on his vehicle and stole a cell phone from inside it. No suspects or witnesses at
this time.
2200 block Caroline St, 10/16 – 10/19 2:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
entered her apartment and stole a quantity of cash. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ABC Store, 1249 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 10/19 6:40 p.m. The manager reported that a male
subject stole two bottles of liquor by concealing them in his clothing. The investigation is
ongoing.
1400 block Franklin St, 10/19 9:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole her
daughter’s bicycle from the front yard. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
400 block Hanover St, 10/18 – 10/19 9:20 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person
shattered the driver’s side window on his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
1800 block New Kent St, 10/17 – 10/20 3:30 p.m. A property owner reported that an unknown
person broke a window on his vacant rental house. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Matthew Stempin, 34, of no fixed address was arrested for DUI and driving while revoked – DUI
related – in the 1300 block of Central Road.
ARRESTS:
Daniel Cook, 29, of Stafford was arrested for felony shoplifting from Home Depot.
Elizabeth Garber, 36, of Fredericksburg was arrested for assault and battery.
Juvenile female, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Robert Danko, 52, of Spotsylvania was arrested for trespassing.
Jerome Schmidt, 54, of Spotsylvania was arrested for trespassing.
Paula Minor, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Robert Baker, 62, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.
Derrick Banks, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Henry Molina, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for drinking in public.
Theodore Turner, 32, of King George was arrested for public intoxication.
Robert Porter, 44, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public and trespassing.
Donald Webb, 55, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.
Antonio Correia-de-meld, 49, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.
Albert Romick, 33, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.
Fnu Nawid, 37, of Stafford was arrested for shoplifting from Wegmans and on warrants from
Fairfax charging him with prescription fraud and possession of schedule I,II narcotics.
Louis Bowman, 27, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery
