Fredericksburg Police Department Incident Reports

MONDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2013
Hospitality House, 2801 Plank Rd, 12/22 1:45 a.m. Police responded for reports of a possible stabbing and found two injured men outside one of the rooms. Both men were bleeding severely from head wounds and one of the victims was unconscious. A witness reported that he and his friends, including the two victims, were standing outside talking when they were approached by another male they didn’t know. The unknown man had a glass jar in his hand that reportedly contained homemade moonshine. An argument broke out, and the unknown man struck both victims in the head with the jar and fled from the scene. The victims were both transported to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Witnesses provided a description of the assailant and a short time later an officer located the suspect walking on Commerce Street. Warren Hovermale, 35, of Chesterfield was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding. Hovermale was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
Sunoco Gas, 2307 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 12/14 2:30 p.m. A 23-year-old man reported that he walked from the nearby hotel to the gas station and was approached by another man who shot him in the head with a BB gun. The victim was struck three times in the face and head with BB shot and required treatment for his injuries at Mary Washington Hospital. The victim and the offender knew each other because the victim was living at Dunning Mills Inn with the assailant’s former girlfriend. On December 18, detectives served a search warrant at the home of the offender. Christopher Williams, 22, of Fredericksburg was arrested for aggravated malicious wounding and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. On December 17, the victim in this case was arrested for felony child abuse in a separate investigation.
300 block Tyler St, 12/21 11:40 a.m. A resident reported that his neighbor’s front door was open. Police checked and found that the door had been forced open but the chain lock prevented the offender from entering the premises. The investigation is ongoing.
1400 block William St, 12/19 - 12/20 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole her handbag from her vehicle. The purse was later found by a city trash collector and returned to the victim. A quantity of cash had been stolen from the bag. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
1200 block Buckner St, 12/16 – 12/20 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole three bags of gifts from the trunk of her vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry to the car. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
2500 block Manor Ct, 12/19 – 12/20 9:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole a GPS and charger from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Quaker Steak and Lube, 1300 Central Park Blvd, 12/21 2:00 a.m. A patron reported that an unknown person stole her wallet from the table. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
2000 block Woodlyn Dr, 8/1 – 12/21 11:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole pieces of luggage from her locked storage unit. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
1200 block Parcell St, 12/22 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole a GPS unit from the console and several sets of house keys. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
1400 block Stafford Ave, 12/22 7:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole a GPS unit, a jacket, and a small quantity of cash from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Joaquin Diaz Ayala, 29, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 3300 block of Plank Road.
Jesse Colbert, 44, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI in the 400 block of Summit Street.
Alison DeGroff, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI in the 300 block of George Street.
William Griffis, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested for aggravated domestic assault, assault by strangulation, and abduction.
Edwin Crespo Garcia, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and assault by strangulation.
Johnny Meadows, 33, of Spotsylvania was arrested for brandishing a firearm.
Juvenile male, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Kristin Voit, 48, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication.
Juvenile male, 16, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Aaron Minor, 26, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest, and assault on law enforcement.
Joseph Hall, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing.
Keenan Barner, 31, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication.
Dustin Conley, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Stafford charging him with filing a false police report.
Jeremy Rose, 21, of Spotsylvania was arrested for inhaling noxious chemicals and shoplifting from Walmart.
Yoshiko Gantt, 49, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and preventing another person from calling 911.
Tramel Thurston, 27, of Louisa was arrested for simple assault, assault and battery, trespassing, and obstruction of justice.
Felix Manuel, 22, of Greeneville, Tennessee was arrested on a warrant from Smyth County charging him with failure to appear in court
