WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2013
WEAPON VIOLATION:
700 block Hanson Ave, 4/30 2:45 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a male
subject who was armed with a handgun. A female resident of the home reported that she was
having a family get together when a male acquaintance came over and started a fight. During the
argument, the subject displayed a handgun and made threats to the group assembled at the home.
The female pulled out her phone to call 911, and the male subject grabbed the phone and ran
from the scene.
Responding officers chased the male on foot along the canal path and another two officers in
patrol cars spotted the male as he came out of the wooded area along Sam Perry Boulevard. The
male ran back into the woods and along the power line behind the hospital and was taken into
custody by officers and a Fredericksburg Sheriff’s deputy who had approached on foot from the
other side of the canal. During the search of the subject incident to arrest, a quantity of
marijuana was found on his person.
Fredericksburg K-9 Max was brought to the scene and conducted a search for further evidence.
The K-9 located the subject’s gun and a gun magazine along the route where he was seen
running away from pursuing officers.
Johnathan Jurgins, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for four counts of brandishing a firearm,
possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, larceny,
and preventing a person from calling 911. Jurgins was incarcerated at the Rappahannock
Regional Jail under no bond.

LARCENY:
James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Ave, 4/30 3:00 p.m. A student reported that the
license plates were stolen from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
700 block Sophia St, 4/26 – 4/30 1:30 p.m. A City employee reported that an unknown person
stole a decorative light pole from the street. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, 1009 Princess Anne St, 4/29 – 4/30 11:00 a.m. The owner
reported that an unknown person broke a pane of glass in one of the windows. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
DUI ARRESTS:
Thomas Langston, 21, of Stafford was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana in the 900
block of the Blue and Grey Parkway.
ARRESTS:
Kenyatta Ellis, 32, of Fredericksburg was arrested for assault and battery.
Truyen Nguyen, 50, of Silver Spring, Maryland was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Misty Lewis, 35, of no fixed address was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Victoria Karvelas, 24, of Arlington was arrested for assault and battery and felony assault on law
enforcement.
