Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St, 12/17 – 12/18 7:00 a.m. An employee reported
that she found a broken window to the kitchen area and apparent signs of entry to the building.
Officers checked the interior of the building and determined that the safe containing cash and
checks had been stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
1200 block Sunken Rd, 12/18 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. A resident returned home after receiving
notification from her alarm company that her burglar alarm was sounding. Upon arrival, she
discovered that the back door glass was shattered. Officers checked the residence and it did not
appear that entry was made to the interior. The investigation is ongoing.
Kohls, 1571 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 12/18 7:00 p.m. Police responded to reports that an adult
female and child were struck by a vehicle in front of the store. The victims, a 48-year-old from
Stafford and her 8-year-old daughter, were both transported to the hospital with non lifethreatening
injuries. Witnesses reported that the victims were in the crosswalk when they were
struck by an SUV. The impact appeared to throw the child approximately 20 feet and caused
two large dents in the SUV’s hood. The SUV’s driver, Jennifer Janzen, 77, of Spotsylvania
remained on the scene until police arrival and was charged with reckless driving.
1900 block Charles St, 12/19 4:50 a.m. A resident reported that a 7-foot lighted Christmas tree
was stolen from his back yard. No known suspects at this time.
Mary Washington Hospital, 1001 Sam Perry Blvd, 12/17 – 12/18 2:30 p.m. A Stafford resident
reported that cash was stolen from his wallet while he was in the hospital. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.

her cell phone was stolen from the nurse’s station on her floor. No suspects or witnesses at this

resident reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was in the emergency
department. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
600 block Kenmore Ave, 12/19 7:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. A Ladysmith resident reported that an
unknown person scratched and damaged his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Ulysses Brown, 27, of King George was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted
felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, and possession with intent to distribute
Heather Monnett, 36, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Shenandoah County
charging her with failure to appear in court.
Frank Smith, 56, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.
Matthew Willden, 20, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging
him with trespassing.
Chadwick Doerr, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for felony assault on law enforcement.
