Relax Inn, 1904 Princess Anne St, 4/21 – 4/22 8:00 pm. On April 22, the King George
County Sheriff’s Office notified the Fredericksburg Police Department of a sex offense that
had occurred in the city involving a juvenile female. The subsequent investigation revealed
that a 13-year-old female had been picked up from her home in King George on April 21and
transported to the Relax Inn, where she spent the night with the 32-year-old suspect. The
victim told her parents she was spending the night with a friend, and the Sheriff’s Office was
called when the parents discovered the truth after the victim returned home. The victim met
the suspect approximately one month ago through a mutual acquaintance, and the suspect and
victim communicated by cell phone and text messages.
The suspect had already fled from the area when investigators responded to the Relax Inn on
the evening of April 22, but information was received that he might be located in Smyth
County, Virginia. On April 24, deputies from the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office arrested
Jaime Hernandez, 32, of Chilhowie on the following warrants obtained as a result of the
investigation: six felony charges of carnal knowledge of a child age 13-15, two felony charges
of indecent liberties with a child, one felony charge of producing/distributing child
pornography, and seven misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Hernandez is currently incarcerated at the Smyth County Jail pending transfer to the
Rappahannock Regional Jail.
1000 block Wicklow Dr, 4/20 – 4/21 8:00 pm. A resident reported that her son’s bicycle was
stolen from the balcony. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Relax Inn, 1904 Princess Anne St, 4/25 12:00 pm – 1:50 pm. A guest reported that the door to
his room was damaged. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline St, 4/25 6:40 pm. An employee
reported that a patron became angry inside the building and slammed the door on his way out,
breaking the hinges from the door frame. The suspect has been identified and the investigation
Mary Jo Carter, 35, of Spotsylvania was arrested for felony shoplifting from Walmart.
Nancy VanMeter, 58, of Spotsylvania was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Perry Deskins, 35, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct,
and assault on law enforcement.
Kevin Hanson, 36, of Chicago, Illinois was arrested for providing false identification to law
enforcement to avoid arrest and possession of marijuana.
Brittany Flippo, 22, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing.
