Fredericksburg Police are looking for two men accused of assaulting a Stafford resident in the city early Thursday morning.
The victim says he was walking home along the Canal Path, near old Cossey Pond, when he ran into the men. He says they had a verbal exchange before the suspects started hitting him. After the assault, the victim continued home and was taken to the hospital by a friend.
The suspects are both black and were wearing dark clothing. One of them is reportedly in his 30s and approximately six feet tall while the other was described as younger and a few inches shorter. The investigation is ongoing.
