If you're used to parking your car at Reagan National while you take a trip by plane?
Get ready to pay a little more starting Saturday, but  you'll get a choice of 100 new spaces. You can still pay by the hour, up to four, before daily changes kick in. You can also use the ePark system to reserve a spot and the new QuickPay app to pay with your smartphone.

More older folks in Spotsylvania County fall victim to a new scam.
The caller notifies the victim that they owe money to the IRS or some other governmental entity. They're then directed to pay the fine or back tax bill by getting a " Green Dot MoneyPak" from a local retailer. They act like cash and are hard to track.
Of course, the sheriff's office says any legit businesses and governmental agencies NEVER ask citizens to pay with pre-paid cards or Green Dot MoneyPaks.

Balls of flames and debris could be seen for miles, when the Orbital Sciences Cargo ship exploded, just after an Eastern Shore launch last night.
Nobody was hurt, but lots of science instruments were lost. Among them: a meteor tracker, 32 mini research satellites and lots of experiments made by schoolkids.
NASA is paying billions of dollars to Orbital Sciences and the SpaceX company to make deliveries to the International Space Station. The others went well, until  last night's explosion. The investigation as to why is continuing. NASA is also counting on SpaceX and Boeing to start flying U.S. astronauts to the orbiting lab as early as 2017.

Yesterday's temps in the low 80s might make talking about salt and sand to clear away snow seem silly, but winter's coming and VDOT's ready.
The preliminary statewide budget is over $145 million. The Fredericksburg District's got 862 pieces of equipment and there are almost $12,000 statewide. VDOT also has a network of weather sensors in the roads and on bridges, along with 16 mobile video cameras to help see what's freezing.
