Hundreds of Tickets for Texting and Driving

by Deirdre Blake posted Oct 23 2013 5:22AM
This is nothing to LOL about. As of last month, Virginia state troopers have written more than 325 tickets for texting and driving since July 1st.
That's when it became a primary offense, so you can be pulled over just for reading or sending one. The fine for the first offense is 125-bucks. The DMV says the top three distractions last year were drivers taking their eyes off the road, fatigue and cellphone use.
