Job Shadowing Smart for Your Resume; a Savings for Employers

If you get the option to try out a new career field in your own workplace, experts say jump on the challenge.
Job shadowing is often used to let employees see if they're comfortable with a new role. It also lets them get one-on-one training from a seasoned professional and see if they like it. Even if it doesn't work out, it could be great for the resume. For companies, it can cut paid training costs in half.
