Louisa and Orange Schools Two Hours Late from Storm

Light sleet has been falling on and off in Fredericksburg and some freezing rain is possible later this morning, probably between 8 and 10 a.m.
Though there is no real accumulation expected, some roads across the region could get slick, and Maggie Johnson with Accuweather tells us the temperature is the key. It should get enough above freezing after noon to turn the system over this region into all rain. And rain it will...heavy downpours are expected through the afternoon and overnight. Before the system moves out later tomorrow, we could also see some wet snowflakes.
Johnson says slow down, especially on bridges and overpasses when it is slick. If your vehicle does start to skid from ice or standing water, steer it in the direction that you want to go. VDOT crews in the Post Oak area of Spotsy and in western Stafford County were mobilized before dawn Tuesday, just in case.
