Two Spotsylvania families are homeless Wednesday morning after flames tore through their homes in the Lee's Hill subdivision.
Firefighters received the call of the blaze at 4 Iron Court shortly after 6:30 a.m. A second call for more assistance went out minutes later.
One of the residents, Aurelia Luton, tells The Free Lance-Star that she was awakened by her smoke alarm and found her kitchen filled with smoke and flames shooting up the outside wall.
A cause is under investigation.
