Man Charged With Killing Puppy

     NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Norfolk police say a man repeatedly slammed a puppy to the ground, killing it, t because he was angry at an acquaintance.
 
     Norfolk police spokesman Chris Amos tells WAVY-TV  that 24-year-old Cornelius Marquez Bell is charged with cruelty to animals.
 
     Amos says Bell took the 3-month-old pit bull from the acquaintance's home Sunday afternoon and repeatedly slammed it to the ground.
 
     Bell is being held at the Norfolk City Jail.
 
     If convicted of the charge, he faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $2,500.
