Man Rescued in Rappahannock River After a Bridge Jump

Parts of the Falmouth and Chatham bridges were closed for nearly 45 minutes Wednesday evening after the report of a possible bridge jumper.
Crews from multiple fire and rescue units responded to the scene. Stafford County's Fire Chief says personnel found a man in the shallow water of the Rappahannock River. They believe he jumped from the Chatham bridge. Rescues say the man was conscious and alert when lifted from the water. The victim was immobilized and taken to Mary Washington Hospital, just before 6:00 p.m.
