Baby Idol 2009 Official Contest Rules
Contest Name: Baby Idol (herein defined as “Contest”)
Station: WFLS-FM (herein defined as “Station”)
Free Lance Star Radio group (herein defined as “Company”) will conduct the Contest substantially as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees as follows:
1. Description of Contest
Listeners email or mail WFLS a picture of their child under the age of (and up to) 24 months. WFLS will post the first 100 on wfls.com. Listeners will then be encouraged to vote for their favorite. The photo that receives the most votes wins the grand prize. Station reserves the right to award 2nd and 3rd place prizes as well.
No purchase necessary. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries.
A. Dates of contest: The contest will begin on August 17, 2009, and conclude on September 11, 2009. Deadline for entry is either August 24th at 8AM, or when the 100th qualified entry is received. Online voting will begin at Noon on August 24th. Online voting will end at 10AM on September 10th, 2009.
The 100 entries will be trimmed to the top 25 vote getters after votes tabulated at 8AM on August 31st, 2009. The top 25 will then each start at zero votes.
Those 25 entries will be trimmed to the top 10 vote getters after votes tabulated at 8AM on September 4th, 2009. The top 10 will then each start at zero votes.
Voting for the Top 10 will end at 10AM on September 10th, 2009. WFLS will contact the Top 3 vote getters. They will be invited to join the Station’s morning show on Friday, September 11th, 2009, when the top vote getter is announced. *The top 3 finalists must provide birth certificates for proof of age for the children in their photos.
In the event of ties in any phase of the voting, Station will silently extend the voting deadline until the tie is broken.
B. How to enter: Beginning Monday, August 17th, listeners can send their photos via email to webmaster@wfls.com. Entry must include child’s name and age, along with parent or guardian’s name, address, phone, and sworn statement of release, provided at wfls.com.
Entries will also be accepted by mail, but must include the criteria listed above. Mail to: WFLS Baby Idol, 616 Amelia St. Fredericksburg, VA 22401
Entries must contain all information requested. Incomplete or multiple entries will be disqualified.
ONE ENTRY PER CHILD AND PER HOUSEHOLD. If multiple entries are received for the same child or from the same household, all entries will be disqualified.
Babies must be 24 months of age or younger at the time of entry, and must be submitted by parent or legal guardian only. Statement of release is parent or guardian’s sworn testimony that the child is within that age span.
Pictures with professional photographer logos will be disqualified. You must be the owner of the photograph.
BY ENTERING CONTEST, YOU ARE VERYFYING THAT YOU ARE THE PARENT OF LEGAL GUARDIAN OF THE BABY IN THE SUBMITTED PHOTO, AND THE OWNER AND PRODUCER OF THE SUBMITTED MATERIAL, AND THAT BY SUBMITTING YOUR PHOTO IN THIS CONTEST, YOU HEREBY GRANT STATION THE RIGHT AND LICENSE TO USE, PUBLISH, REPRODUCE, AND DISPLAY PHOTO ON ALL MEDIA MARKETING MATERIAL INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE STATION WEBSITE AND THE FREE LANCE STAR NEWSPAPER.
Children will not be identified by name on the Station website. They will be identified only by number. That number may change with each phase of the voting.
Station encourages parents to mobilize voting from their friends, family, co-workers, etc, and to make them aware of their child’s number.
The Top 3 vote getters will be identified by name at the announcement of the grand prize winner.
Voting Criteria: Any person wishing to cast a vote for one of the online pictures MUST first become a member of the WFLS Country Club. Registration is available at wfls.com. No purchase necessary.
Club members may vote only once per 24 hour period.
If an entrant receives an irregular voting pattern or multiple votes from the same user on the same day, including but not limited to votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or any automated means or source, the Station reserves the right to disqualify the entrant at its sole discretion.
C. Eligibility addendum. The parent or legal guardian will be considered the contest entrant. They and not the child will take on the responsibilities incurred with the prizes received, such as 10-99 tax requirements.
All other Station and Company contest rules and regulations apply.
