WFLS EGG SMASH

RULES & REGULATIONS

1)    All contestants must be between the ages of 5 to 14.  All contestants must pre-register online at wfls.com between Saturday, March 15th and Friday, March 28th.  Contest is open to the first 200 eligible contestants.  A confirmation email will be sent to each contestant confirming their entry into the Smash.

2)    Build a device that will protect a RAW, uncooked, ‘run of the mill’ egg from breaking when it is dropped, from approximately 100 feet in the air.  Egg shall be supplied by the contestant.

3)    The device can not be any bigger than 10” in height, 10” wide and 10” length (10”x10”x10”); a smaller device is acceptable.  Note: Device can be enclosed.

4)    No metal, glass, nails or sharp objects can be used on the device.

5)    The following limitations shall be observed:

a.     The shell of the egg shall not be treated in any way to make it more resistant to breakage.

b.     The device shall not be attached to balloons or a parachute.

c.     The device may not be dropped into any type of ‘catching’ device.

d.     The device must be a composite of at least three (3) different materials, one of which may include paint.

e.     The egg may not be dropped with the chicken, as the device.

6)    Devices will be dropped by a WFLS representative, from a cherry picker, from approximately 100 feet in the air.

7)    WFLS representatives will tear open the device after being dropped to see if the egg is a survivor.  If the egg survives, it will be cracked by a WFLS representative to verify that it is a raw egg.  All contestants eggs that survivor will be entered into a random drawing for the Grand Prize.  If the egg is smashed, broken or cracked in anyway; the contest is over for that contestant.

8)    Must be a Virginia resident.

9)    Additional prizes will be rewarded for: ‘Best of Show’, ‘Most Creative Device’

10) Judges decisions are final.
