BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - A Virginia woman is in custody after police say she rammed her car into a vehicle, then tried to run into a security officer, outside the entrance of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
The officer shot at the car Tuesday after police say she tried to back her vehicle into him. The woman was not injured and drove away. She was being treated but was not immediately charged.
Montgomery County Police spokesman Paul Starks identifies the woman as Angela Akosua Cobbold from Manassas.
Starks says earlier Tuesday, Cobbold's car had been spotted going more than 90 mph on Interstate 66 in Virginia. He says the woman was also seen biting a bar of soap.
The woman never got on the base.
