Crime/Incident: Driving under the influence/Possession of CDS
Case Number: 13-57-000362, 364
Date/Time: 1/20/2013 @ 0123hrs.
Location: Rt. 925 @ VFW, Waldorf, Charles County, MD.
Summary: On the above date and time Tpr Davis observed a suspicious vehicle sitting behind several businesses that were closed with the headlights off. Tpr Davis contacted the driver who was identified by his Florida Driver’s License as James Edward Norris. Tpr Davis detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage upon Norris’ breath. Norris submitted to and performed poorly on a battery of field sobriety tests. Norris was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the barrack for processing. A search incident to arrest of the suspects person revealed a quantity of prescription narcotic Hydrocodone pills. Norris did not have a valid prescription for the pills. Norris was advised of his DR-15 Rights and he elected to take the chemical test by breath. His breath test results were double the legal limit in Maryland Norris was transported to the District Court Commissioner office for a bond hearing.
Charges: 1. Driving under the influence and other related traffic charges.
2. Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
