Fatal Arrest News Release

Brief Synopsis of the original Incident: On June 24, 2012, at approximately 1521 hours, Jackson Tutt was operating his 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe on southbound Maryland Route 210 north of Lewis Place, Bryans Road, Maryland. His vehicle drifted from the roadway into the median and continued into the northbound lanes of Maryland Route 210. Mr. Tutt’s Tahoe collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated William Green Jr. The Tahoe continued into lane number 2 of northbound Maryland Route 210 where it collided with a 2003 Nissan Altima operated by Marquetta McGee and occupied by Jan-Nae Woodard. As a result of the collision, McGee and Woodard died from their injuries.
On January 18, 2013, the facts of the case were presented to the Grand Jury for Charles County, Maryland by Crash Team investigators. After a review of the facts, the Grand Jury indicted Jackson Tutt with 2 counts of Negligent Manslaughter and 2 counts of Criminal Manslaughter for the deaths of Marquetta McGee and Jan-nae Woodard. An arrest warrant was issued.
On January 23, 2013, at approximately 1230 hours, Jackson Tutt, turned himself into Maryland State Police Crash Team Investigators at the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack. Jackson Tutt was taken into custody by Trooper First Class A. Watson of the La Plata Barrack. Jackson Tutt was taken to the Charles County Detention Center pending a court appearance before a Circuit Court Judge. Jackson Tutt was held without bail pending the court appearance.
