Summary:
On the above date and time, Sgt. Trossbach of the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack, conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 silver Hyundai Tiburon for failing to stop for a school bus with alternating flashing red lights. Sgt. Trossbach contacted the driver of the vehicle who was identified by his Maryland driver’s license as a 17 year old male from Mechanicsville, MD. Sgt. Trossbach detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a significant quantity of marijuana and over $3,000.00 in U.S. currency. Also located in the suspect’s vehicle were several items that indicative of the suspect’s intent to distribute marijuana. The marijuana and currency were seized. Tpr. Ortiz arrived on scene and handled the arrest. The juvenile was processed accordingly and was incarcerated at the Cheltenham Youth Facility located in Cheltenham, Maryland.
