At 11:08 am Tuesday Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department responded to a bomb threat at Rodney Thompson Middle School.
Upon arrival Fire and Rescue personnel met with school officials to ensure the students and faculty were evacuated. K-9 units from the Stafford Sheriff’s Office, Quantico Military Police and the Manassas Park Police Department entered the school and alerted on a student’s locker.
The Quantico Explosive Ordinance Disposal team entered the school, removed the contents of the locker and several others in the area but did not locate an explosive device.
The Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
