U.S. Marshals along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement served a search warrant at a home in Marietta, Georgia and took Juan Melchor into custody for the murder of Armando Escobar.
Escobar was found stabbed to death in his tent at a homeless camp off of Fall Hill Avenue in Fredericksburg on July 25.
The 43-year-old Melchor was arrested at the home of a relative. It is believed that he fled from Virginia immediately after the crime.
He will be extradited to Fredericksburg to face a charge of first degree homicide.
