In a ceremony outside the post headquarters at Fort Belvoir Monday morning, a new leader takes over command of one of the Army's most diverse installations.
Colonel Gregory D. Gadson has been lauded by the Army for his leadership skills. He comes to Belvoir after serving as the director of the Army Wounded Warrior program. Wounded in Iraq in 2007, Gadson is the first bi-lateral amputee to command an Army installation.
Outgoing commander, Colonel John J. Strycula commanded Belvoir during the final implementation of BRAC 2005.
