Chancellor sophomore Lara Cariker led two other area players on the Group AA all-state softball team.
Cheyenne Nicholas, an infielder for the Chargers, and Spotsylvania pitcher Courtney Brooks were on the second team.
Cariker was the Battlefield District's Player of the Year, batting .568 with 25 RBIs.
Broad Run's Jenny Clohan was named Pitcher of the Year and Alex Shoemaker of Grafton was named Player of the Year. Dan River's Ryan Scolpini was named Coach of the Year.

GymnasticsDiana Janda of Stafford County is leaving one successful gymnastics program to join another.
This week, the Stafford High graduate left for Centenary College in Shreveport, La. The Ladies placed third in the team competition at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals held at Cornell University this spring after capturing the national crown in 2004.
Janda, a member of Paragon Gymnastics, received an athletic scholarship from the Division I school after Centenary coach Bill Hardy was impressed by her strong showing at the College Bound Invitational competition held in May in Denver.
SwimmingStafford County's Meredith Cavalier tied for 50th place in the women's 50-meter freestyle at USA Swimming's Junior National Championships last weekend in Irvine, Calif.
Cavalier, a 14-year-old QDD swimmer, was clocked in 27.95 seconds in the preliminary rounds in her first junior national meet. Samantha Woodward of Kerr-McGee Swimming won the final in 26.14.
Cavalier also has qualified for the U.S. Open meet Dec. 1-4 in Auburn, Ala.
